チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)予選3回戦2ndレグの全10試合が9日に行われた。
ユニオン・サン=ジロワーズはレンジャーズとアウェイで対戦し、0-3で敗れた。この結果、2戦合計スコア2-3で逆転敗退となった。ユニオンのDF町田浩樹はベンチ入りしなかった。
ユニオンは先週、ホームでの1stレグを2-0と快勝。しかしレンジャーズの攻勢を受けたこの試合では、前半終了間際にPKで失点。後半に2点を失って痛恨の逆転敗退。ヨーロッパリーグに回ることになった。

監督引き抜かれたザンクト・パウリ、サン=ジロワーズのブレシン監督を引き抜き成功! 110年ぶりのカップ優勝を達成
ザンクト・パウリは27日、新監督にアレクサンダー・ブレシン氏(51)を招へいしたことを発表した。 現役時代はドイツ国内のクラブやトルコでもプレー経験のあるブレシン氏は、引退後に指導者の道を歩む。 2010年7月にSVボンランデンのアシスタントコーチとして指導者キャリアを歩み始めると、RBライプツィヒの下部組織で長らく指導を続ける。 2020年7月にベルギーのKVオーステンデでファーストチームの監督に初就任。その後、ジェノアでも指揮を取ると、2023年7月にロイヤル・ユニオン・サン=ジロワーズの監督に就任した。 日本代表DF町田浩樹も指導したブレシン氏は、チームを110年ぶりのクロッキー・カップ優勝に導くと、ジュピラー・プロ・リーグでは2位に導いていた。 ザンクト・パウリは2.ブンデスリーガ(ドイツ2部)を優勝し、ブンデスリーガに昇格したものの、ファビアン・ヒュルツェラー監督がブライトン&ホーブ・アルビオンに引き抜かれてしまい、監督が不在となっていた。 そんな中、当初から噂があり、ブライトンと同じオーナーが保有するサン=ジロワーズで指揮を執っていたブレシン氏の引き抜きに成功。両クラブは移籍の内容は非公開にすることで合意している。 ブレシン氏はクラブを通じてコメントしている。 「ザンクト・パウリはドイツだけでなく国際的にも信じられないほどの魅力を持っている。このクラブは、プロスポーツにおける明確な価値観と野心的な取り組みを象徴している」 「長い間2部に所属していたクラブをブンデスリーガで監督するのは大きな仕事だ。チーム一丸となって、クラブ全体で果敢にこの課題に挑みたいと思う。ミラーントア(本拠地)でブンデスリーガのビッグクラブに挑戦できることを本当に楽しみにしている」 2024.06.28 00:10 Fri
