A代表返り咲きの相馬勇紀、強みを発揮してのアピールへ「自信はある」

名古屋グランパスの日本代表FW相馬勇紀が18日、代表のオンライン取材で活躍を誓った。

名古屋ではチームのシステム変更もあって、左ウィングバックでのプレーながら、主力に定着する相馬。豊富な運動量を生かしたアップダウンにドリブル突破と存在感を示すなか、2019年のEAFF E-1 サッカー選手権以来となるA代表入りを果たした。

そんな25歳は今年6月の代表戦もテレビで観て、東京オリンピックをともに戦った戦友たちが続々とA代表の門を叩き、アピールを続ける姿から「心に来るものがあった」と刺激を明かす。

そうしたなかでのA代表返り咲き。19日の香港代表戦からオール国内組によるアピール合戦が始まり、「結果というか、見える数字だけが自分の目標」と貪欲な姿勢で挑む覚悟を示した。

数字を追い求める上で、個でスペシャルなものも披露していかなければ、ほぼ海外組のメンバー構成になるであろうカタール・ワールドカップ行きも見えづらいが、「自信はある」と話す。

「爆発的なスピードや、球際、走力だったりは絶対に誰にも負けない。というか、負けたくないという思いがあるし、そこに関しては自信をもってやっている」

ただ、自身が考える代表での現在地は厳しく、「客観的にも、現実的にも、今の自分は当落線上よりもさらに下の位置」にいる選手とも。その上で、自身が思い描く代表での姿を続けた。

「こうやって集められたなかで、最後に『必要だよね』と呼びたくなる選手がどういう選手かと考えたら、やっぱり得点に絡める選手、自分で点を獲れる選手だと思う」

「そこを意識して、一つひとつ目の前のことを戦った先にあるものだと思っているし、とにかく、この3試合に集中していきたい」

元仙台のFWフェリペ・カルドーゾ、相馬勇紀が加入したカーザ・ピアに移籍へ

BE:FIRSTがアンバサダー就任の「FILA」、かつては中田英寿氏も同ブランドのスパイクを着用
