ユベントスがセリエBで躍動の23歳CBガッティを獲得! 高校をやめてレンガ職人なども経験した苦労人

ユベントスは1月31日、セリエBのフロジノーネからイタリア人DFフェデリコ・ガッティ(23)を完全移籍で獲得したことを発表した。契約期間は2026年6月30日までの4年半。今シーズン終了まではレンタル移籍の形でフロジノーネに残留する。

トリノ生まれでアレッサンドリアの下部組織出身のガッティは、190cmのセンターバック。父親の失業に伴い、17歳で高校をやめてレンガ職人、窓の製造、屋根の修理などの仕事の傍らアマチュアレベルでプレーを続けた苦労人は、2020年に加入したセリエCのアウローラ・プロ・パトリアでプロキャリアをスタート。

その翌シーズンにセリエBのフロジノーネへのステップアップを図ると、今シーズンここまではリーグ戦18試合3ゴールを記録。屈強なフィジカルを生かした対人守備の強さに加え、攻撃時の正確な配球を含め戦術眼にも優れる総合力の高さが最大の売りだ。

セリエBでの圧倒的なパフォーマンスによってインテルやナポリ、トリノ、サッスオーロといったクラブからの関心を集めてきたが、最終的に生まれ故郷であるトリノのビッグクラブのユベントス行きを決断した。

ユベントスのフランス代表MFポール・ポグバが苦難に満ちた1年間を振り返った。マンチェスター・ユナイテッドとの契約が満了した昨夏、ユベントスへとフリー移籍したポグバ。6年ぶりの古巣復帰には背番号「10」が与えられ、スクデット奪還を目論むチームのキーマンとして大きな期待が寄せられた。しかし、待っていたのはケガとの戦い。開幕前から長期離脱してカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)行きを逃しただけでなく、戦列復帰後も幾度となく再発を振り返した結果、1年を通して公式戦の出場が10試合にとどまった。フランス『Views』のインタビューに応じたポグバはケガのみならず、自身の代理人であったミーノ・ライオラ氏の死去、実兄による自身への恐喝事件などが重なった今シーズンを「人生最大の試練だった」と振り返った。「自分が30歳になったなんて少し奇妙に感じるよ。僕は25歳で父親になり、家族と子どもたちに責任があるから、何も変わらないはずだけどね。常に自分らしくいようと努めているけど、成熟し、人生経験が増え、少しは責任感を持てるようになったと思うよ」「この数カ月、あらゆることが僕を大きく成長させてくれたと思う。たった7カ月で10年分の人生を歩んだかのようだ(笑) これは人生の道のりであり、試練だよ。僕自身は前向きに捉えたい。何が大切なのかを学べたよ」ポジティブな姿勢を語った一方、この1年間は多少なりともメンタルに不安があったことも認めている。「自分をコントロールするのは結局のところ、頭だよ。頭の中がスッキリしていなければ、身体もついてこないんだ。ケガの原因はこの点だったと思う。僕の頭はサッカー以外で起きた問題にもストレスを感じ、全身が緊張に苛まれた。早くピッチに戻って雑音を取り除きたかったんだけどね」ケガでなかなかピッチに戻れなかったことにより、大きな批判を浴びる時期もあったポグバ。来シーズンに懸ける思いは強い。「ケガだけでなく、サッカー以外にも問題があった…間違いなく人生最大の試練だったよ。だけど、全て乗り越えられれば、僕の人生にとって最大の勝利となる。勝利のためになんだってやる準備ができているよ」 2023.06.17 20:35 Sat
