母国のマルソニアでプロキャリアをスタートしたマンジュキッチは、NKザグレブ、ディナモ・ザグレブを経て2010年にヴォルフスブルクに加入。そして、2012年にはドイツの盟主バイエルンへステップアップを果たすと、主力ストライカーとして2012-13シーズンのブンデスリーガ、チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)、DFBポカールのシーズントレブルに貢献。
その後、アトレティコ・マドリーを経て2015年にユベントスに加入すると、本職のセンターフォワードに加え、左ウイングで新境地を開き4度のセリエA優勝などに貢献。その後、アル・ドゥハイル、ミランでのプレーを経て今年9月に現役引退を発表した。
また、2007年11月17日の北マケドニア代表戦でデビューを飾ったクロアチア代表では通算89試合に出場し、ダヴォール・シューケルに次ぐ歴代2位の33ゴールを記録。ワールドカップとユーロに2度ずつ出場し、2018年のロシア・ワールドカップでは同国史上最高位となる準優勝に大きく貢献していた。

理由はズラタン? 古巣復帰で輝きを取り戻しつつあるヨビッチがミラン移籍拒否の理由
