サッカーのプレーの中で最も目を惹くのはやはりゴールだろう。しかし、時には得点者だけではなく、そのゴールをお膳立てしたラストパスが脚光を浴びるべき場合もある。今回の企画『Best Assist』(最高のアシスト)では、これまでに生まれた素晴らしいアシストを紹介していく。

ブレシアでキャリアをスタートさせたピルロ氏は、インテル、ミラン、ユベントスとイタリアのビッグクラブを渡り歩き、数々のタイトルを勝ち取った。

中盤の底から試合を組み立てる世界屈指のレジスタとしてその名を馳せたピルロ氏だが、2012年1月21日に行われた、セリエA第19節のアタランタ戦では、素晴らしいアシストを記録している。

0-0で前半を折り返して迎えた54分、敵陣中央左でピルロがボールを持つ。プレスに来た相手を鮮やかなタッチでかわし、ボールをキープすると、この位置から一気にゴール前にクロスを入れる。

完全にノーマークでファーポストに走り込んでいたDFシュテファン・リヒトシュタイナーにピンポイントで入ったロングパスに、リヒトシュタイナーがダイビングヘッドで合わせ、見事な先制ゴールが決まった。

このゴールで先制したユベントスは、終盤にも追加点を奪い、2-0で勝利している。

欧州のドリブルキングはメッシ! C・ロナウドとは成功数に1000以上の差
