今夏にバルセロナを退団し、アトレティコ・マドリーに移籍したスアレス。27日に行われたラ・リーガ第3節のグラナダ戦では、途中出場から2ゴール1アシストの鮮烈デビューを果たした。
だが同選手は以前にユベントス移籍が報じられており、実際にパスポート発行に必要なイタリア語試験にも合格していた模様。しかし、そのパスポート発行に時間を要することもあり、アンドレア・ピルロ監督も「難しい」と獲得を断念していた。
だが問題はここで終わりではなく、その試験でスアレスが不正を働いていたと各メディアに伝えられた。情報によれば、スアレスは試験内容を事前に知らされていたばかりではなく、受ける前から合格が決まっていたという。
現在も調査が行われている中、パラティチ氏はスアレスの潔白を主張。ユベントスに対する訴訟の可能性もあったがクラブは調査対象外にあるとしている。
