現役時代にレバークーゼンやバイエルン、チェルシーで活躍したバラック氏は、フットボーラーとしてのキャリアをスタートしたのはケムニッツ。同氏は1997年にカイザースラウテルンに移籍するまで、下部組織時代を含め10年以上在籍していた。
そのケムニッツは今シーズンのドリッテ・リーガ(ドイツ3部)を17位で終え、降格となり、来シーズンはレギオナルリーガ(ドイツ4部)で戦うことに。
さらに、新型コロナウイルスによる財政面のダメージが重なり、8月中旬までに45万ユーロ(約5500万円)を調達できない場合、破産となる絶体絶命の状況だ。
現在、約30万ユーロ(約3700万円)の資金調達に成功しているものの、目標金額には残り15万ユーロ(約1800万円)が必要となっている。
