フライブルク、在籍9年のシュトライヒ監督との契約延長を発表

フライブルクは12日、クリスチャン・シュトライヒ監督と契約延長が合意に至ったことを発表した。契約年数は明かされていない。

今月11日に55歳の誕生日を迎えたシュトライヒ監督。1995年の現役引退後すぐに指導者の道に進み、フライブルクのアカデミーで監督業をスタートさせた。すると、3度のジュニア・DFBカップ優勝や、U-19のブンデスリーガ優勝など才能を開花させ、トップチームの指導も兼任するようになった。

2011-12シーズンには、新任のマルクス・ソルグ前監督のアシスタントを務めていたところ、同シーズンに成績不振で解任された同監督の後任として初めてトップチームに就任。翌シーズンにはブンデスリーガ5位に導き、ドイツ『キッカー』選出の年間最優秀監督に選ばれるなどさらに評価を高めると、一度2部に降格するもののクラブ上層部の信頼は厚く、ここまで9シーズンに渡って指揮してきた。

今季はここまで8位と上々の成績を収めるシュトライヒ監督は、クラブ公式サイトにコメントを残している。

「私たちは交渉を長引かせることはなかった。この場所で特別な集団と仕事ができているよ」

「他のクラブよりも優れていると言っているわけではない。だが、ここは特別な場所なのさ」
