8連覇を目指す王者ユベントスがFWクリスティアーノ・ロナウドの加入によって更なる進化を遂げた。レアル・マドリーをチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)3連覇に導いた男の加入によって、これまで以上に妥協を許さないチームに変貌したチームは17勝2分けという圧巻の成績を収め、セリエAの前半戦最多勝ち点記録を樹立した。C・ロナウド以外にもミランから復帰したDFボヌッチ、インテルでプレーしていたDFカンセロの加入によってバックラインからのビルドアップが精度を増し、チーム力を向上させている。

攻守に充実しているユベントスの8連覇が確実な情勢だが、追随するナポリもMFジョルジーニョを引き抜かれた中、アンチェロッティ新監督の下で健闘を見せており、ユベントスを9ポイント差で追っている。また、CLでは惜しくも敗退したものの、リバプールとパリ・サンジェルマン相手に互角の戦いを見せるなど、昨季までチームを率いていたサッリ監督が築き上げた質の高いパフォーマンスを維持していた。

MFナインゴランやDFアサモア、DFデ・フライといった好選手を迎え、ユベントスのライバルになることが予想されたインテルだったが、ナインゴランがチームにフィットしなかったことと、バルセロナ、トッテナムと同居したCLを戦っていた影響もあって低調な試合が多かった。ユベントスとは14ポイント差を付けられ、逆転優勝は絶望的な状況だ。

また、マルディーニ氏の入閣などフロントを刷新した中、FWイグアインを迎えたミランだったが、そのイグアインをガットゥーゾ監督が機能させられず攻撃力に大きな問題を抱え、5位に留まっている。そして、GKアリソンやナインゴランら主力を放出したローマは、エースFWのジェコを筆頭に負傷者を抱えた中、代役のFWシックが機能しなかったことから躓き、6位に終わっている。ラツィオは昨季ブレイクしたMFミリンコビッチ=サビッチに元気がないものの、シモーネ・インザーギ監督の下で堅実な戦いを持続し、CL圏内の4位を死守している。

移籍金1億ユーロの価値を結果で証明した。年齢を重ね、レアル・マドリーではゴール前に特化したストライカーの役割に傾倒していったC・ロナウドだが、新天地ではかつてのトレードマークであるキレ味鋭いドリブルが復活。左サイドからのカットインシュートでゴールに迫るシーンを幾度も生み出した。開幕4試合目でセリエA初ゴールを記録したC・ロナウドはその後、コンスタントにゴールを挙げ続け、得点ランクトップの14ゴールをマークした。

C・ロナウドという劇薬を見事にチームの一部に組み込んで見せた。全選手にハードワークを強いるアッレグリ監督の戦術にC・ロナウドはフィットし辛いことも予想されたが、C・ロナウドが独善的なプレーを一切見せずにチームプレーに徹したことでそれは杞憂に終わった。また、ディバラの起用法も難しいところだったが、トップ下や右ウイングでまずまず機能させ、C・ロナウドとの共存を図った点も流石だった。

過酷なCLを戦っていた中、14勝2分け3敗の成績を残したことは特筆に値する。サッリ監督が去り、バイエルンで失敗したアンチェロッティ監督を迎えた中、そのアンチェロッティ監督が抜群の手腕を発揮して見せた。言葉が通じるイタリアでは采配に冴えを見せ、サッリ監督とは打って変わって巧みなターンオーバーを採用し、コンディショニングに気を配った。その効果もあってCLとセリエAの両大会で好パフォーマンスを維持することができていた。

ポーランドから今季ジェノアに加入した新星がブレイクした。同胞のレヴァンドフスキを彷彿とさせるプレースタイルのピョンテクは、開幕後8戦連続ゴールを決め、一躍時の人となった。そこから5試合ゴールがなかったものの、さらに4ゴールを積み上げ、C・ロナウドに次ぐ13得点を挙げた。

ナインゴランと迷ったが、イグアインを選出。C・ロナウドの加入に伴い、追い出される形でユベントスからミランに加入したイグアインは、前半戦を終えて6ゴールと物足りない結果に終わっている。年間20ゴールを保証する世界屈指のゴールスコアラーであるイグアインだが、周囲との連係に苦しみ、セリエA移籍後最悪なシーズンを過ごしている。

【後半戦展望】
★ナポリがどこまで粘れるか
よほどのことがない限り、ユベントスの8連覇は揺るぎない情勢だ。CLと並行して戦うことによる蓄積疲労で主力にケガ人が続出するといったアクシデントがなければ失速することは考えにくい。ユベントスの独走を阻むには9ポイント差で追うナポリがどこまで粘れるかがポイントとなる。

CL出場権争いはナポリとインテルが濃厚として、残り一枠をラツィオ、ミラン、ローマの3チームで争うことになりそうだ。ラツィオとローマは欧州カップ戦に残っているため、一足早く敗退したミランに多少のアドバンテージがある。とはいえ組織力ではラツィオに分があり、本命ラツィオを軸に、ミランとローマが追う展開が予想される。

1チームに1人欲しかった“万能型サイドバック”、ジャンルカ・ザンブロッタ
