ヴィッセル神戸の元スペイン代表MFアンドレス・イニエスタが、今からちょうど18年前のバルセロナでのファーストチームデビューを回想している。バルセロナの下部組織であるラ・マシア出身のイニエスタは、当時の指揮官オランダ人指揮官のルイ・ファン・ハール氏に見出される形で、2002年10月に初めてファーストチームでベンチ入りすると、2002年10月29日に行われたチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)グループステージのクラブ・ブルージュ戦でデビューを飾っていた。
イニエスタは29日に自身のツイッター(@andresiniesta8)を更新。「18年前のブルージュ。デビューの思い出はいつも特別です」というコメントとともに、クラブ・ブルージュ戦の短いハイライト映像を投稿している。
映像では、当時まだ18歳で背番号「34」のイニエスタが登場。ゴールやアシストこそなかったものの、フル出場を果たしチームの勝利に貢献していた。
イニエスタを見出したファン・ハール氏は2003年にバルセロナを退団したものの、イニエスタは2004-05シーズンからクラブの主力に定着。卓越したボールコントロール技術と戦術眼、洞察力などフットボーラーに必要な能力を全て備え、クラブの黄金時代の中心選手となっていった。

エゴと献身性の相反する能力を持ち合わせたアフリカ最高のストライカー、サミュエル・エトー

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン

ベッカムに並ぶ“イケメン”…日韓W杯で一大ブームとなったイルハンはすっかり“イケオジ”に

「難波にいる(笑)」イニエスタが12mの巨大獅子構える神社に興奮「日本にはユニークなスポットがたくさん」

「TJ、今年で引退します!!」 田中順也が36歳で現役生活に終止符
