アトランタ・ユナイテッド戦では『マイティ・ソー』、オーランド・シティ戦では『ブラックパンサー』、シャーロット戦では『スパイダーマン』のセレブレーションを行っていた。
アメリカ移籍前はなかったアメコミヒーローのゴールセレブレーションだが、これはメッシの息子たちによる発案だったようだ。『Bleacher Report』がメッシの言葉を伝えている。
「子供たちがこのアイデアを思いついてくれて、僕が試合でゴールを決めたらスーパーヒーローのセレブレーションをしてと言っていたんだ」
