アストン・ビラに所属するスイス女子代表FWアリーシャ・レーマンが自身のファンに失望しているとした。イギリス『タイムズ』が伝えた。
レーマンはヤングボーイズの女子チームでファーストチームのキャリアをスタートさせ、2017年10月22日に長野Uスタジアムで行われたなでしこジャパンとの試合で、当時18歳でスイス女子代表デビューを果たした。
その後はイングランドのFA 女子スーパーリーグ(FAWSL)、ウェストハムに加入し、エバートンへのレンタル移籍を経て現在はアストン・ビラに所属している。
そのレーマンは自身のSNSで多くのフォロワーを抱え、特にインスタグラムでは1150万人のフォロワーがいる人気インフルエンサーに。同胞でテニス界のレジェンドであるロジャー・フェデラーよりもフォロワー数は多い。
レーマンのインスタグラムでは、トレーニングの様子やサッカーの投稿はもちろんのこと、ピッチ外での姿も多く投稿され、ドレスアップした美しい姿やセクシーな水着姿も数多く投稿されている。
人気を博すレーマンだが、ファンの反応について失望しているとインタビューで話し、サッカーをする姿も見てもらいたいとした。
「多くの人がインスタグラムを通じて私の人生のソーシャルな側面だけを見て、実際にどういうサッカーのプレーをするのかを見ていない」
「このことについては、毎日ハードワークしているから、時々ガッカリする。毎日トレーニングをしているし、最高の選手になりたいと思っているわ」
「彼らは私のプレーについてなんてよく知らない。いつも『試合を観て』って言ってるけど、そうするとみんなが驚くの」
今シーズンのレーマンはFAWSLで12試合に出場し1ゴール1アシストを記録。インフルエンサーとしてだけでなく、しっかりとフットボーラーとしての側面も見せている。
「私がみんなに伝えたいのは、文字通り、どんな風にだってなれるし、サッカーもできるということ」
「化粧をしたり、自分が好きなことをしたり、ネイルやまつ毛をつけたりする。でもサッカーもできるの。それは何かを選ばなければいけないということではないわ」
「人に言われて変わるのではなく、自分が変わることが大切なの」
「若い頃に多くの人が『化粧はしてはダメ。まつ毛はプレー中につけてはいけない』と言ってきたわ。でもある時『なぜ?』と思ったの。それが普通だし、誰も傷つくことはないわ」
一流のフットボーラーを目指す上で、おしゃれや化粧など伝統的に女性が嗜んできたことを捨てる必要はないというレーマン。インスタグラムを観ている1000万人以上のフォロワーが、プレーをしっかり見てくれる日が来ることを願うばかりだ。

元イングランド代表FWガブリエル・アグボンラホル氏が、アーセナルのブラジル代表FWガブリエウ・マルティネッリを非難した。
18日にプレミアリーグ第24節でアストン・ビラとアウェイで対戦したアーセナル。6分にいきなり先制点を許し、2-1と1点のビハインドを負って前半を折り返したが、後半は完全に主導権を握ると、オレクサンドル・ジンチェンコのゴールで同点に。さらに後半アディショナルタイムにジョルジーニョがミドルシュートを突き刺し、劇的な決勝ゴールを奪った。
アーセナルはさらに、ラストプレーとなった相手CKの場面で相手GKエミリアーノ・マルティネスも攻撃参加を見せた中、冷静に撥ね返してのロングカウンターからマルティネッリが無人のゴールへシュートを流し込み、ダメ押しの4点目まで奪い切り、2-4の逆転勝利で再びリーグ首位に浮上した。
アグボンラホル氏が指摘したのはマルティネッリの4点目のシーン。相手GKが攻撃参加していたため、後はマルティネッリが無人のゴールに流し込むだけという場面だったが、マルティネッリはシュートを放つ前に後ろを確認すると、ゴールを確信したのか両手を大きく広げて喜んでいたのだ。
アストン・ビラのOBでもあるアグホンラホル氏は、このシーンについて「この試合には気に入らない部分があった。マルティネッリが無人のゴールに走り抜け、ボールを入れる前に祝杯をあげているのが気に食わなかった」と非難。「この1ヶ月間、彼はひどい状態だったが、彼はタップインゴールを決め、得点する前に祝っていた。チームメイトへの敬意が感じられない」と指摘した。
さらに、マルティネッリが時間を稼ぐような行いをしていたともし、「それも気に食わない。マルティネッリの時間稼ぎは、試合終了後に追加される。でも、今日のあれは、スポーツマンシップに則っているとは言えない」と断罪している。

Jリーグ連覇を果たしたヴィッセル神戸からプレミアリーグに選手が移籍する可能性が浮上しているようだ。イギリス『Birmingham Live』が伝えた。
2024シーズンの明治安田J1リーグで見事にシーズン終盤に首位に躍り出て、連覇を達成したヴィッセル神戸。2023シーズンに続いての連覇となり、日本代表としても活躍してきたFW大迫勇也やFW武藤嘉紀らがチームを牽引し王者に輝いた。
その神戸だが、2024シーズンに川崎フロンターレから加入し、自身初となるシーズン2桁得点となる11得点を記録したFW宮代大聖(24)がアストン・ビラに加入する可能性が浮上しているという。
宮代はJ1で32試合に出場し11得点。AFCチャンピオンズリーグ(ACL)でも6試合で4ゴールを記録。持ち味の得点力が開花した1年となった。
神戸とアストン・ビラは、2023年10月19日にフットボール領域における戦略的パートナーシップに関して合意。アストン・ビラのオーナーであるナセフ・サウィリス氏とウェズ・エデンス氏の持ち株会社でもある「V Sports」が保有するアストン・ビラをはじめ、ヴィトーリア・ギマランイス(ポルトガル)、ZED FC(エジプト)などグローバルに連携を深めると発表されていた。
若手選手の海外移籍支援や選手育成を含めたパスウェイの構築などもパートナーシップの目的であり、宮代がアストン・ビラに行く可能性は全くないとは言い切れない状況ではある。
日本代表歴はない宮代。一方で、移籍市場が開いた中で、アストン・ビラはPSRの厳しい監視下に置かれており、選手補強も違反しない範囲内で行う必要がある状況。補強をしたいクラブだが、多額の資金は投じられない状況。かつてはビジャレアルで日本代表MF久保建英(レアル・ソシエダ)を指導したこともあるウナイ・エメリ監督が指揮しているが、御社のイングランド行きはあり得るのか注目が集まる。

リバプールのアルネ・スロット監督が、シーズン最大の山場を前に意気込みを語った。クラブ公式サイトが伝えている。
プレミアリーグで25試合を消化して首位に立つリバプール。2位アーセナルとの差は7ポイントとなっており、2019-20シーズン以来となるリーグ制覇が現実のものとなりつつある。
ただし、ここからリバプールにとっては厳しい日程に。19日にアストン・ビラ、今週末にマンチェスター・シティ、26日にニューカッスルと、難敵との連戦が待ち受けている状況だ。
ここを乗り切ればプレミアリーグ優勝の可能性がグッと高まる中で、スロット監督はビラ戦の前日記者会見に出席。ビラ戦が残る試合でも最も重要な試合になるだろうとし、大一番に向けた意気込みを述べている。
