アストン・ビラは10日、トルコのカスムパシャに所属するトルコ代表DFヤシン・エズジャン(18)との契約を発表した。
エズジャンは2025-26シーズンからアストン・ビラに加入。今シーズンはカスムパシャでプレーすることとなる。
カスムパシャの下部組織で育ったエズジャンは2022年7月にファーストチームに昇格。

アストン・ビラとダービ・カウンティで争われる今季のチャンピオンシップ昇格プレーオフ決勝。その勝利金額が凄いと話題になっている。
27日に行われるこの一戦。ダービーを率いるフランク・ランパードとアストン・ビラでコーチを務めるジョン・テリーの、チェルシーレジェンド同士の対決ということでも注目を集めているが、もう一つさらに注目すべきポイントがある。
イギリス『デイリー・メール』によると、この試合の勝者にはなんと1億7000万ポンド(約236億円)の賞金が与えられるというのだ。この額はチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)優勝賞金よりも高いだけでなく、全スポーツの中でも最も高額であるようだ。
また、両チームにはそれぞれ勝利した場合、ダービーの選手らは1000万ポンド(約14億円)、アストン・ビラには600万ポンド(約8億3000万円)のボーナスが支給されるという。
イングランドにおける放映権料は年々高騰しており、今季プレミアリーグで最下位となったハダースフィールドは9330万ポンド(約130億円)の収入があったようだ。来季はさらに、最下位のチームでさえ1億1000万ポンド(153億円)の収入が見込まれている。

プレミアリーグのプロ審判協会(PGMOL)でチーフを務めるハワード・ウェブ氏が、アストン・ビラvsアーセナルでの判定について問題なしとの見方を示した。プレミアリーグ公式サイトが伝えている。
今季は定期的に審判の判定が議論になっているプレミアリーグ。特にアーセナルは第11節のニューカッスル戦でいくつかの際どい判定がことごとく不利に働いたことから、試合後にはミケル・アルテタ監督は「恥ずべき判定だ」と主審に激怒。クラブも指揮官の肩を持つ声明を出したことで、賛否両論を巻き起こした。
そんなアーセナルは、プレミアリーグ第16節のビラ戦でも議論の的になる判定が発生。1点を追う状況で迎えた90分、FWカイ・ハヴァーツが同点弾を挙げたかに見えたが、これはハヴァーツのハンドで取り消しに。ただし、その直前には相手DFマティ・キャッシュの手にも当たっているように見えたため、試合後にはさまざまな意見が飛び交った。
これについて、ウェブ氏は判定に問題はなかったと断言。現行ルールについて解説し、ジャレッド・ジレット主審の冷静なジャッジを称えている。
「ルールとして、たとえ偶発的なものであっても攻撃側の選手の手や腕にボールが接触し、それが即ゴールにつながったらファールになる。その点、ジャレッド・ジレット主審のフィールドでの判断は実に正しかった。カイ・ハヴァーツの腕に接触があったなら、ルールとしてファールだ」
「故意ではなくても、ファールはとらなければならない。そして、ハヴァーツの腕に当たりゴールが無効になる状況でありながら、その数秒前にはマティ・キャッシュの腕にも同じように偶然ボールが当たっていた。しかし、彼はファールではなかった」
「ルールとして、彼にファールを与えることはできない。彼は守備側であり、ファールとするには不自然に体を大きく広げたり意図的にハンドがあったりする必要があるからだ。彼はそのどれにも該当せず、ファールとしなかったのは正しい。そしてその後にハヴァーツの手に当たった以上、ゴールは認められない」
「このルールは5年ほど前から施行されている。ルールは常に見直されており、もしかしたら変更されるかもしれない。だが、今回のケースにおいてレフェリーは絶対に正しいことをした」
「これにVARが介入するなら、ボールが手に当たっていないという明確な証拠があるかチェックする必要がある。それが決定的でないなら、彼らはフィールド上の判定のままにするだろう。そして実際にVARを見ると、ハヴァーツの腕に接触していると示す角度があった」
「VARは試合を審判するためにあるのではなく、明らかなミスに対するセーフティネットとして存在する。ジャレッドはその立場からこの状況を明確に見てファールとした。そうするのは正しく、彼の功績になるだろう」

Jリーグ連覇を果たしたヴィッセル神戸からプレミアリーグに選手が移籍する可能性が浮上しているようだ。イギリス『Birmingham Live』が伝えた。
2024シーズンの明治安田J1リーグで見事にシーズン終盤に首位に躍り出て、連覇を達成したヴィッセル神戸。2023シーズンに続いての連覇となり、日本代表としても活躍してきたFW大迫勇也やFW武藤嘉紀らがチームを牽引し王者に輝いた。
その神戸だが、2024シーズンに川崎フロンターレから加入し、自身初となるシーズン2桁得点となる11得点を記録したFW宮代大聖(24)がアストン・ビラに加入する可能性が浮上しているという。
宮代はJ1で32試合に出場し11得点。AFCチャンピオンズリーグ(ACL)でも6試合で4ゴールを記録。持ち味の得点力が開花した1年となった。
神戸とアストン・ビラは、2023年10月19日にフットボール領域における戦略的パートナーシップに関して合意。アストン・ビラのオーナーであるナセフ・サウィリス氏とウェズ・エデンス氏の持ち株会社でもある「V Sports」が保有するアストン・ビラをはじめ、ヴィトーリア・ギマランイス(ポルトガル)、ZED FC(エジプト)などグローバルに連携を深めると発表されていた。
若手選手の海外移籍支援や選手育成を含めたパスウェイの構築などもパートナーシップの目的であり、宮代がアストン・ビラに行く可能性は全くないとは言い切れない状況ではある。
日本代表歴はない宮代。一方で、移籍市場が開いた中で、アストン・ビラはPSRの厳しい監視下に置かれており、選手補強も違反しない範囲内で行う必要がある状況。補強をしたいクラブだが、多額の資金は投じられない状況。かつてはビジャレアルで日本代表MF久保建英(レアル・ソシエダ)を指導したこともあるウナイ・エメリ監督が指揮しているが、御社のイングランド行きはあり得るのか注目が集まる。

エズジャンは2025-26シーズンからアストン・ビラに加入。今シーズンはカスムパシャでプレーすることとなる。
カスムパシャの下部組織で育ったエズジャンは2022年7月にファーストチームに昇格。
