エリクソン氏が夢の実現を前に心境明かす 「夢のよう」

アトレティコやリバプールでプレーしたマキシ・ロドリゲスが現役引退…「みんなに大きなハグを」

今なお現役、最愛のクラブ・ニューウェルズでプレーする、マキシ・ロドリゲス【ピックアップ・プレイヤー】

サッカーでは、GK、DF、MF、FWとそれぞれ役割の全く異なるポジションで、それぞれにスター選手がいる。今回の企画『Pick Up Player』では、現役を問わず各クラブを代表する選手たちをプレー動画付きで紹介していく。 今回はニューウェルズ・オールドボーイズの元アルゼンチン代表MFマキシ・ロドリゲス(39)だ。 <div id="cws_ad">◆マキシ・ロドリゲス、ニューウェルズ・オールドボーイズでのゴール集<br /><div style="margin:0 auto; max-width:100%; min-width:300px; " ><div style="position: relative; padding-bottom:56.25%; height: 0; overflow: hidden; "><iframe src="https://embed.dugout.com/v2/?p=eyJrZXkiOiJpbXhIUWprNCIsInAiOiJ1bHRyYXNvY2NlciIsInBsIjoiIn0=" style="width: 300px; min-width: 100%; position: absolute; top:0; left: 0; height: 100%; overflow: hidden; " width="100%" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen scrolling="no"></iframe></div></div></div> アルゼンチンのロサリオ生まれでニューウェルズ・オールドボーイズの下部組織出身のマキシは、2002年7月にエスパニョールへ移籍して欧州デビュー。2005年7月から在籍したアトレティコ・マドリーではキャプテンを務め、ドリブル、シュート、献身性を兼ね備えたサイドアタッカーとして活躍。中心選手として公式戦通算121試合32ゴールを記録すると、2010年1月にリバプールへと活躍の場を移した。 リバプールでは加入直後こそ主力としてプレーしたものの、次第に出場機会が減少。2012年7月に古巣のニューウェルズに復帰するとクラブを1部優勝に導いた。しかし、熱狂的なサポーターとの関係悪化もあり、退団を余儀なくされることに。アルゼンチン国内ではニューウェルズ以外でプレーしないという信念のもと、ウルグアイの名門ペニャロールに移籍した。それでも最愛のクラブで引退したいという強い想いのもと、2018年12月に再びニューウェルズに復帰、キャプテンとしてチームを引っ張っている。 代表レベルでは、やはり2006年ドイツ・ワールドカップでの活躍を覚えている方も多いのではないだろうか。決勝トーナメント初戦で、メキシコ代表と対戦するアルゼンチン代表の一員に名を連ねたマキシ。活躍の場がやってきたのは1-1で迎えた延長戦前半8分、フアン・パブロ・ソリンからサイドチェンジのパスを受けると、胸でトラップして左足ボレーシュート。ボックス右手前から強烈なドライブシュートを突き刺し、チームを救った。世界中に衝撃を与えたその得点は、同大会のベストゴール選ばれている。 2020.09.22 16:00 Tue
