バルセロナのドイツ代表GKマルク=アンドレ・テア・シュテーゲンが、チームに勝ち点3をもたらした。
2日に行われたラ・リーガ第19節でマジョルカとのアウェイゲームに臨んだバルセロナ。2022年最初のゲームも、テア・シュテーゲンがゴールマウスを守った。
新型コロナウイルス感染のため日本代表MF久保建英が欠場したマジョルカ相手に主導権を握るバルセロナは、前半終了間際の45分に先制点を奪取。DFオスカル・ミンゲサのクロスからFWルーク・デ・ヨングがヘディングを沈めて試合を動かした。
追加点こそ奪えないものの、後半に入ってもバルセロナペースで試合は進み、アディショナルタイムに突入。だが、勝ち点3が目前に迫るところであわやの場面を迎えてしまう。
92分、右からのクロスに大外からFWエスタニス・ペドロラの背後を突いてマジョルカDFハウメ・コスタが飛び込み、至近距離から強烈なボレー。絶体絶命かと思われたこのピンチを救ったのが、テア・シュテーゲンだ。
肩口を抜かれそうなシュートに対して右手で反応。腕を伸ばして見事にはじき返すと、マジョルカサポーターから大きなため息が漏れた。
威力、コースも申し分のないシュートだったが、偶然ではなくしっかりと反応したテア・シュテーゲンは見事。サポーターからも「セーブ・オブ・ザ・イヤー」、「今夜ばかりは専門家からの中傷は聞こえてこない」、「ドイツの壁が戻ってきた!!」など、絶賛する声が相次いだ。
このまま1-0で試合は終了。テア・シュテーゲンがスーパーセーブでバルセロナに新年最初の白星をもたらした。
