フィオレンティーナは12日、インターナショナル・チャンピオンズ・カップ(ICC)2019に臨む招集メンバーを発表した。
今回のアメリカラウンドには当初ローマが参加予定だったが、ヨーロッパリーグ(EL)予選2回戦からの参加が決定したことにより、先月13日にフィオレンティーナの代替参戦が決定した。(その後、ミランのEL出場辞退でローマはグループステージストレートインに)
フィオレンティーナは先日、クラブの新オーナーとなったアメリカの実業家ロッコ・コミッソ氏のお膝元であるアメリカツアーに向けて、エースのFWフェデリコ・キエーザやFWジョバンニ・シメオネ、MFマルコ・ベナッシら主力を順当に選出。また、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドからの関心が伝えられるDFニコラ・ミレンコビッチもメンバー入りを果たした。
その一方で、ローマとミランが獲得に強い関心を示すMFジョルダン・ヴェレトゥに関しては招集メンバーを外れており、今夏の退団が濃厚と見られる。なお、キャプテンのDFヘルマン・ペッゼッラに関してはアルゼンチン代表としてコパ・アメリカに参戦した影響で招集外となっている。
フィオレンティーナは現地時間7月16日にグアダラハラ戦、同20日にアーセナル戦、同24日にベンフィカ戦を戦う予定だ。今回発表されたメンバーは以下の通り。
