2021シーズン限りで現役を引退した元日本代表FWの大久保嘉人が新たな挑戦を始めた。
2001年に国見高校からセレッソ大阪入りした大久保氏は、国内ではヴィッセル神戸や川崎フロンターレ、ジュビロ磐田、東京ヴェルディでプレー。海外でもマジョルカ、ヴォルフスブルクでプレーした。
現役を引退してからはテレビ出演や解説者として精力的に活動しているが、新たに活動の幅を広げた。
大久保氏は31日に自身のインスタグラムを更新。「初めてのモデル!神戸時代お世話になったテルさんのFIDESとNO COFFEEさんのコラボアイテムのモデルをさせてもらいました。お互い引退してもこうやって一緒に仕事ができるのは嬉しいな〜!」とモデルに挑戦したことを報告した。
『FIDES』は元Jリーガーの小林久晃氏が立ち上げたブランドで、2人は神戸時代にチームメイトだった。
また、「4月6日から伊勢丹新宿店 メンズ館でのPOP UP STOREにて先行販売されるようです。ぜひ、チェックしてください〜!」とファンに呼びかけている。
大久保氏はシンプルなデザインのTシャツやスウェット、スポーティなセットアップを着こなしながら、ピッチの上とはまた違った真剣な眼差しを見せ、新たな挑戦を楽しんでいるようだ。
