リーベル・プレートは9日、女子チームに日本人FW江頭一花(21)が加入することを発表した。
江頭は長崎県出身で、伊賀FCの育成組織である伊賀FCくノ一三重サテライトから、2021年にトップチームへ昇格。2023年1月にアルゼンチン女子1部リーグのエクスクロジオニスタスへ加入し、同リーグ史上初の日本人プロ選手となった。
左利きのドリブラーとしてチームを牽引。指揮を執っていたイグナシオ・ラカル監督もリーベル・プレートへ移り、引き抜かれる恰好で、名門クラブへのステップアップを果たした。
アルゼンチン女子リーグは2019年にプロ化。今オフにはニッパツ横浜FCシーガルズからMF渡辺琉那がクルブ・フェロ・カリル・オエステへ加入することも発表されている。
エクスクロジオニスタスは2023年のカンピオナート・プリメーラAで12位、総合成績は14位。リーベル・プレートはプリメーラAで4位、総合成績は5位だった。
リーベル・プレートには過去に深澤仁博、河村崇大が留学で在籍していたが出場はなく、江頭がデビューすれば、同クラブで出場した初の日本人選手になる。
