MF本田圭佑が新天地でのデビュー戦初ゴールについて語った。
26日、Aリーガ(リトアニア1部)第30節でスードゥヴァvsバンガが対戦。本田は右ウイングで先発出場を果たした。
14日に加入が発表されて12日後にデビューを果たした本田。チームは立ち上がりから主導権を握り続けていく。
1-0で迎えた64分、ボックス手前でジョルダン・エンコロロが浮き球のパス。これを本田がボックス内右で胸トラップし右足シュート。コースを狙ったシュートが左に決まり、スードゥヴァが追加点を決めた。なお、4-0で試合に勝利している。
本田はリトアニアが自身9カ国目の挑戦となったが、これまでの8カ国に続いてデビュー戦でいきなりゴールを記録した。
試合後、自身のYouTubeチャンネルでライブ配信を行った本田が試合やゴールについてコメント。まだまだできると語った。
「もっとやれたという反省点の方が多くて、調整の仕方に反省点がありました。心肺機能とか、ケツ周り、体全体のパワーは問題なくてフィーリングは良かったですが、結果的にふくらはぎにストレスが結構来ていました」
「次もこういう形の契約スタイルでサッカー選手を続けていくのであれば、入国してから10日ちょっとで試合に出ることもあると思うので、そこで90分間試合に出て活躍できるように、今回の反省は次に活かしたいと思っています」
また、リトアニアリーグについてはJリーグの方がレベルが高いとコメント。ただ、難しい話だとし、チーム内で認められるために何としてもゴールを決めたかったと語った。
「Jリーグの方がレベルが高いんですが、相対的なものでいつも試合は考えないといけないので、リーグが強くても相手が格上ばかりならば活躍するのは難しいです」
「チーム合流してコンビネーションとか、自分を理解してもらっていなかったり、相手を理解できていないことが難しいです」
「普通は馴染むのに半年ぐらいかかると思っていて、いかに早くできるかが今回の命題です。点取ったらどこのチームでもすぐに認め始められるので、なんとか結果が欲しかったというのが初戦への意気込みでした」
なお、本田は自身のインスタグラムも更新。9カ国目のゴールを喜び、この先もチャレンジしていきたいと語った。
