韓国サッカー協会(KFA)が、韓国代表の新監督に関する報道に対して声明を発表した。
カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)に出場していた韓国代表。グループステージでは苦戦しながらも、最終戦のポルトガル代表戦で劇的な逆転勝利。その結果、2位でグループステージを突破していた。
しかし、ラウンド16ではブラジル代表と対戦するも、前半だけで4失点。4-1で敗れてベスト16で敗退していた。
試合後、パウロ・ベント監督が改めて退任を発表。これを受けて、後任監督に関する報道が韓国国内で出ていたが、全ての報道は真実ではないと声明を発表した。
「このところ、新しい韓国代表監督の選任に関連して、一部メディアにて分別のない推測の報道が出ています。これにKFAは深刻な懸念を表します」
「サッカー関係者の発言として『韓国人指導者が内定』、『年俸は10億ウォン(約1億円)以下』、さらに『愛国心が強い指導者』という荒々しい条件まで報じられています。また、特定の人物の名前が有力候補として取り上げられることもあります」
「結論を言えば、上記の内容は全く事実とは異なります。匿名の関係者が誰であるかも疑わしいですが、たとえKFAの関係者がそのような発言をしたとしても、それは個人の見解であり、KFAの公式の立場としての発言ではありません」
報道に関しては完全に憶測であるとしたKFA。監督選任に関する会議すら行われていないとし、4年前のパウロ・ベント監督就任時もほとんどが結果とは異なったとした。
「まだ最初の会議も開かれておらず、議論の準備に入る段階です。全ての可能性を開いた状態で、今後我々代表チームが進む方向を確立することから始めます」
「従って、一部の報道に出てきたように、韓国人や外国人かを語る時期ではなく、年俸などの細部の条件はより取り上げられる状況ではありません」
「4年前、ベント監督の選任過程で見られたように、当時も『内部事情をよく知る関係者』、『サッカー界に精通している情報筋』などの匿名を利用した推測報道がありました。しかし、ほとんどの記事が実際の結果とは異なりました」
「ファンの皆さんは、このような過去の事例を参考にし、KFAの公式発表があるまでは、韓国代表チームの監督選任に関して、性急な予測をしないようにお願い申し上げます」
報道では、韓国人指揮官の名前が多数上がっており、東京オリンピックでU-24韓国代表を率いたキム・ハクボム監督の他、Jリーグでもプレーしたチェ・ヨンス氏、ホン・ミョンボ氏、アン・ジョンファン氏の名前が浮上している。
また外国人監督を連れてくるべきだという報道もあり、現在フリーのマウリシオ・ポチェッティーノ氏、今回のW杯にも出場していたサウジアラビア代表のエルヴェ・ルナール元監督、ベルギー代表のロベルト・マルティネス元監督、スペイン代表のルイス・エンリケ元監督などの名前も挙がっていた。

韓国サッカー協会(KFA)は30日、東京オリンピックに臨むU-24韓国代表メンバー18名を発表した。
キム・ハクボム監督は、今回のメンバー18名にオーバーエイジの3名を招集。元ガンバ大阪のFWファン・ウィジョ(ボルドー)、FWクォン・チャンフン(水原三星ブルーウィングス)、DFキム・ミンジェ(北京FC)を選出した。
また、当初招集されていた23名から15名が本大会メンバー入り。バレンシアのMFイ・ガンインやセレッソ大阪でもプレーしたGKアン・ジュンス(釜山アイパーク)などが招集されている。
韓国代表は7月13日と16日に国際親善試合を行い、16日にはU-24フランス代表と対戦。13日の相手は現在未定だ。また、本大会では7月22日にニュージーランド、同25日にルーマニア、同28日にホンジュラスと対戦する。

▽トッテナムに所属する韓国代表FWソン・フンミンに来シーズン開幕戦欠場の可能性が高まっているようだ。イギリスの地元紙『イブニング・スタンダード』が報じた。
▽トッテナムで活躍を続ける傍ら、母国韓国の兵役問題に苛まれるソン・フンミン。韓国人の成人男子は28歳までに兵役の義務が課されており、25歳のソン・フンミンは3年以内に努め上げなければならない。
▽そのソン・フンミンは、兵役免除を目指して8月18日から9月2日まで行われるアジア競技大会にオーバーエイジ枠でU-23韓国代表に合流予定。チームを率いるキム・ハクボム監督も招集を明言しているという。
▽だが、大会は国際サッカー連盟(FIFA)が定める代表ウィーク外の開催であり、トッテナム側と協議中。トッテナムはここで派遣を拒否すれば、3年以内にソン・フンミンを失う可能性が出てくるトッテナムだが、果たして…。
▽ソン・フンミンは、2015年夏にレバークーゼンから加入。2016-17に公式戦47試合21ゴール10アシストの好成績を収め、今シーズンもここまで43試合18ゴール9アシストをマークしている。
