コパ・アメリカ2021を終え、束の間のオフを満喫しているブラジル代表FWネイマール。つい先日には、金髪のエクステをつけ、その金髪で三つ編みを作り、それらを上部にまとめ上げたかなり奇抜なヘアースタイルに挑戦し、大きな話題を呼んでいた。
しかし、飽きが来るのは早いのか、すでにそのエクステは外してしまったようだ。
ネイマールのスタイリストであるナリコ氏が自身のインスタグラムを更新。「今日はブラザーであるネイマールJrのヘアースタイルを整える日だった。短く、大胆にサイドをカットした」という文言とともに、散髪後のネイマールの姿を投稿した。
ネイマールの頭髪はナリコ氏のコメント通り、かなり短く整えられた“坊主”スタイルだった。“編み込み”ヘアーはサッカーには不向きそうだが、思ったよりも早い再イメチェンとなった。
なお、ナリコ氏はネイマール以外にも、マンチェスター・シティのブラジル代表FWガブリエウ・ジェズスやバルセロナのブラジル代表MFフィリペ・コウチーニョらも顧客に抱えている。

アーセナルのブラジル代表FWガブリエウ・ジェズスが、パートナーと破局したようだ。
ジェズスはマンチェスター・シティからアーセナルへと移籍。今シーズンはエースとしてチームを牽引していたが、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)でヒザを負傷し手術。現在はリハビリを続けている。
そのジェズスだが、パートナーのライアネ・リマさんとの間には8カ月になる娘を授かっており、仲睦まじい様子が投稿されていた。
しかし、ライアネさんが自身のインスタグラムのストーリーズで破局を伝えるメッセージを投稿。これまでのジェズスとの2ショットなどは全て削除され、理由を説明した。
「ゴシップが広まる前に、ガブリエウと私はもうカップルではないことをハッキリさせておきます」

アーセナルのミケル・アルテタ監督が、独特な表現でドイツ代表FWカイ・ハヴァーツについて語った。イギリス『スカイ・スポーツ』が伝えた。
3日、アーセナルはプレミアリーグ第4節でマンチェスター・ユナイテッドと対戦。試合は1-1のまま終了するかと思われたが、後半アディショナルタイムにデクラン・ライスが値千金の逆転ゴールを決めると、ガブリエウ・ジェズスがダメ押しゴールを決め、3-1で勝利を収めていた。
開幕4試合で3勝1分けとしたアーセナル。悪くないスタートを切ったチームで、新加入のライスも結果を残した中、結果を残せていないハヴァーツが注目されている。
ユナイテッド戦でも前半にボックス内でこぼれ球が転がってきて、流し込むだけの状態でシュートミス。試合が苦しい展開になってしまう一因にもなった。
SNSなどでも批判的な声が見られたが、アルテタ監督が試合後にハヴァーツについて言及。チームに加入してシーズン開幕から1カ月も経っていない中では難しいとコメント。独特な表現を交えて評価した。
「昨日彼には言った。最初は大変なんだ。『妻に会った時、最初は彼女をモノにするのが大変だった』とね」

アルテタ監督は、アルゼンチン出身で女優や司会者、モデルなどで活躍しているロレーナ・ベルナルさんと2010年に結婚。ミス・ワールドでファイナリストの10人にも選ばれる存在で。ドラマの『CSI:マイアミ』などにも出演していた経歴を持っている。
妻を口説き落とした難しさを冗談混じりに持ち出したアルテタ監督。その期待にハヴァーツが応えられるかどうかは、グーナーにとっても待ち遠しいところだろう。

プレミアリーグ第28節、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドvsアーセナルが、日本時間9日25:30にオールド・トラッフォードでキックオフされる。わずかながら逆転優勝の可能性を残すガナーズが敵地で赤い悪魔撃破を目指す名門対決だ。
現在、14位のユナイテッド(勝ち点33)はリーグ前節でドルグの退場がありながらもイプスウィッチ・タウンに3-2の劇的勝利を収めたが、FAカップ5回戦ではフルアムにPK戦の末に敗れて連覇の可能性が消滅した。続くヨーロッパリーグ(EL)のラウンド16初戦ではレアル・ソシエダとのアウェイゲームを1-1のドロー。ザークツィーのゴールで先制に成功したが、不運な形で与えたPKを決められて先勝を逃した。

デンマーク生まれでナイジェリアにルーツを持つチド・オビは、2022年にコペンハーゲンの下部組織からアーセナルに加入。昨シーズンのU-18プレミアリーグでは驚異の18戦32ゴールをマークし、ノリッジ・シティU-18戦では7ゴールの大暴れも見せた。
その超逸材に対しては、当然のことながらアーセナルも17歳の誕生日に向けてプロ契約を準備していたが、ユナイテッドのレジェンドであるエリック・カントナを崇拝する逸材は、クラブのプロジェクトへの共感を含めオールド・トラッフォードへの移籍を決めた。

同胞指揮官の熱望によって今季からガナーズに加入したフィジカルと戦術眼に長けたレフティーは、ケガの影響で序盤は出遅れて復帰後も中盤のバックアップがメインタスクとなったが、ハヴァーツやガブリエウ・ジェズスらの離脱によって先月から偽CFとしてプレー。レスター・シティ戦では途中投入で2ゴールの活躍を見せると、以降は極端に後ろを固めた相手にチームとともに苦戦を強いられたが、PSV戦ではマンツーマン気味の守備で臨んだ相手に本職ではない特長を活かす形で1ゴール1アシストの活躍を見せた。
今回の試合ではユナイテッドがウェストハムやフォレストと同じアプローチで引き込むような戦いを選択する可能性も想定され、チームとともに個人としても真価が試される。

マンチェスター・ユナイテッド戦を控えるアーセナルに朗報が届いた。
今シーズンもプレミアリーグ優勝を目指して戦っていたアーセナル。2年連続2位に終わっていた中、今シーズンも現在2位。優勝を争うライバルはマンチェスター・シティではなくリバプールに変わっている。
しかし、そのリバプールとは2試合消化が違うものの勝ち点差は「16」。試合数が並んでも「10」は離れている状況となり、優勝への道のりは簡単ではない。
これ以上は負けが許されないアーセナルは、9日にプレミアリーグ第28節でマンチェスター・ユナイテッドとアウェイで対戦。調子が上がらない相手との試合だが、ただの1試合ではないことは誰もが知るところだ。
ただ、アーセナルはイングランド代表FWブカヨ・サカ、ブラジル代表FWガブリエウ・ジェズス、ブラジル代表FWガブリエウ・マルティネッリ、ドイツ代表FWカイ・ハヴァーツが離脱中。前線の駒不足に陥り、スペイン代表MFミケル・メリーノがセンターフォワードを務めている状況だ。
そのアーセナルだが、朗報が届いた。マンチェスターへの遠征メンバーにマルティネッリが含まれており、チームと共に遠征に帯同している。
マルティネッリは2月5日に行われたカラバオカップ(EFLカップ)のニューカッスル・ユナイテッド戦でハムストリングを負傷。1カ月程度の離脱と見られた中、一足先に復帰に近づいているようだ。
今シーズンは公式戦35試合に出場し7ゴール3アシストを記録しているマルティネッリ。両ウイングでもプレーができるマルティネッリは、ゴールを決めるとチームが負けない不敗神話も持っている状況。試合に起用されるかどうかは不明だが、攻撃の枚数が足りないアーセナルにとっては、大きな戦力の復帰となりそうだ。
