イニエスタがエミレーツ・クラブと正式契約、慣れ親しんだ背番号「8」に決定「新たな経験であり、新たな挑戦」

元スペイン代表MFアンドレス・イニエスタ(39)が9日、UAEのエミレーツ・クラブと正式に契約した。

背番号はバルセロナ、ヴィッセル神戸でも慣れ親しんだ「8」に決定している。イニエスタはバルセロナのカンテラで育ち、2002年7月にファーストチームに正式昇格すると、数々のタイトルを獲得。クラブのレジェンドとしてその地位を確立するも、2018年7月に退団。神戸へ完全移籍すると、5年間をJリーグでプレーした。

これまでバルセロナで公式戦674試合57ゴール137アシスト、神戸で公式戦135試合26ゴール25アシストを記録。バルセロナではラ・リーガで9回、チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)で4回の優勝などを経験。神戸でも天皇杯を優勝していた。

また、スペイン代表としてもワールドカップを1度、ユーロを2度優勝するなど、131試合で14ゴールを記録。世界的なスター選手として大いにファンを沸かせていた。

9日には入団会見も行われ、イニエスタは「これは確かに新たな経験であり、新たな挑戦だ」とコメント。「全ての熱意を持って、僕はクラブの責任者が設定した目標の達成に貢献するために、チームメイトと協力する」と意気込みを語った。

また「もちろん、エミレーツ・クラブのために、そして大きく発展しているUAEリーグでプレーできることを嬉しく思う」とコメント。これまでの経験をUAEサッカー界やチームメイトに伝えていくことを誓った。

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン
