“世界で最もセクシーなサッカー選手”と称された女子選手が反論「嫌だった」

スイスのグラスホッパーに所属する女子クロアチア代表FWアナ・マリア・マルコビッチ(22)が、自身に関する報道に苦言を呈した。イギリス『SPORT BIBLE』がスイス『20 Minuten』の情報をもとに伝えている。

クロアチア生まれのマルコビッチは幼少期にスイスに移住。現在は日本人MF川辺駿とDF瀬古歩夢もプレーするグラスホッパーの女子チームでプレーしている。

インスタグラムでは58万人ものフォロワーを抱える人気選手のマルコビッチだが、最近セルビアで彼女のことを「ブロンドのセクシーな女性」と表現した記事があったようだ。

そのことについて尋ねられたマルコビッチは「セクシー」は行き過ぎた表現だとし、記事を知った時に嫌な気持ちになったことを明かした。

「最も美しいサッカー選手や最も美しい選手の一人と呼ばれる記事は好きです。でも、その後に世界で最もセクシーなサッカー選手と書かれた新聞記事が出ました。それが嫌でした。家族のこともありました」

「人のことを書くときは気を付けないと...。でも全体的にひどいわけではなかったです」

また、多くの人が彼女に近づこうとしていたとも明かしている。

「多くの人がマネージャーのふりをして手紙をくれたけど、彼らが私に何を求めているかはよく分かっています」

「彼らは私のサッカーを見たことがなく、外見しか見ていない。それはとても残念なことです。そういう人はもっと事前に調べて、私がサッカーで何ができるかを知るべきだと思う」

「また、多くの人がソーシャルメディア上で私のことを何か利用し、それでお金を稼ぎたいというために、私が可愛いと思わせてしまっています」
