バイエルン10番サネ、元同僚のコンパニ“新監督”を語る「絶対的なリーダー」

バイエルンのドイツ代表FWレロイ・サネがマンチェスター・シティ時代の同僚と立場変わっての再会に言及した。

紆余曲折を経て、来季からヴァンサン・コンパニ監督のもとで再出発のバイエルン。サネとコンパニはシティでの現役時代に共闘した間柄で、2016年夏からの3シーズンにわたってチームメイトだった。

ドイツ『スカイ』によると、サネはこれからのバイエルンで新たに師弟関係となるコンパニ監督について、合流中の代表先で「残念ながら」と冗談を交えながら秘話とともに、再会を素直に喜んだ。

「彼はいつか僕の監督になると言っていたんだ。僕はそんなのないだろうと言い返したけど、残念ながら、そうなったね。だから、彼が正しかったよ」

「彼がトップクラブの監督になれること、そして僕がそのチームの一員として彼に会えるのを本当に嬉しく思う」

そう歓迎したバイエルンの10番は現役時代から博学ぶりや厚い人望でも知られたコンパニのそうした資質を鑑みて、いつしか指揮官になるイメージがあったと話す。

「選手だった彼の姿を見て、察したよ。一緒にプレーしているときでさえも、彼はノートパソコンで試合を観ていたんだ。だから、その当時からわかりきったことだった」

今回のバイエルン行きにあたっては「ちょっと電話をしただけ。彼に祝福の言葉を送って、楽しみにしていると言った。互いの近況を軽く伝え合っただけなんだ」と明かした。

指揮官としてはまだ経験の浅いコンパニ監督だが、サネは「彼は性格的にも先頭に立ちたがりで、絶対的なリーダー」とし、バイエルンで成功を掴みうると語った。

「選手としてピッチに立つときもそうだった。それは当時の彼がチームメイトに求めたり、期待されたりしたこと。今も選手にそれを求めるだろう」

「それと、僕らが主導権を握って、速くて良いフットボールをすることもね。彼が僕らにそれをうまく植えつけられたら、とても良い方向にいくだろう」
