アメリカ女子代表のFWアレックス・モーガン(32)が、東京オリンピック組織委員会と国際オリンピック委員会(IOC)を非難した。新型コロナウイルス感染拡大の影響で、海外からの観客の受け入れを断念した東京オリンピックだが、6月30日に一転して、授乳が必要な乳児については同行させることが可能になったとロイター通信が報じた。
アメリカ『ESPN』もこれを報じ、大会主催者のコメントとして「授乳中の子供を持つアスリートが直面する状況を慎重に検討した結果、必要に応じて、授乳中の子供が日本へ同行できることを確認した」と伝えた。
ただ、「選手村の居住区は選手とチームスタッフ以外のすべての人に制限が課されているため、授乳中の子供は承認されたホテルに滞在する必要がある」とも伝えている。
モーガンはこの記事を引用する形で、自身のツイッターに意見を投稿。曖昧な表現にいらだちをあらわにした。
アメリカ女子代表のエースとして過去3回のワールドカップに出場しているモーガンは、2020年5月に第一子となる女児を出産し、半年後の11月からピッチに戻っている。

メッシが2度目のThe Best FIFA最優秀選手に!「キャリアに起きた最も美しいこと」…男子はアルゼンチン勢が占める

女子選手の意見を参考に配慮し白パンツを中止、ナイキが女子W杯出場13カ国の新ユニフォームを発表!

18歳の逸材WGユヌス・ムサがアメリカ代表を選択!
バレンシアに所属するFWユヌス・ムサ(18)は、アメリカ代表で戦うことを正式に決断したようだ。アメリカ合衆国サッカー連盟(USSF)が15日に公式サイトで発表した。 アーセナルの下部組織出身のユヌス・ムサは、2019年の夏にバレンシアに加入。リザーブチームでのプレーを経て、今シーズンからトップチームに昇格すると、FWフェラン・トーレスの抜けた右ウイングでレギュラーを掴み、ここまでラ・リーガ24試合に出場。第8節のヘタフェ戦ではプロ初ゴールを決めていた。 2002年11月29日にガーナ人の両親を持つユヌス・ムサは、ニューヨークで生を受けたが、イタリアのジョルジョーネ・カルチョの下部組織に入団するために渡伊。その後、2012年夏にアーセナルの下部組織に移籍すると、2019年夏にバレンシアに加入するまで7年間イングランドで過ごした。 そのためアメリカのほかにガーナ代表、イタリア代表、イングランド代表でプレーする権利も持っており、アンダー世代の代表ではイングランド代表に呼ばれることが主だったが、2020年11月に行われた国際親善試合のウェールズ代表戦でアメリカ代表デビューを飾っており、どのA代表を選ぶかが注目されていた。 そんな中、USSFは公式サイトで｢イングランド、ガーナ、イタリア、アメリカの代表資格を持つユヌス・ムサは、アメリカ代表として国際大会に出場することを選択した｣との声明を発表。 また、ユヌス・ムサ本人も｢僕がアメリカ代表を選択したことは難しいことではなかった。自分の生まれた国を代表することが一番正しい選択だと思ったんだ｣と理由を説明している。 2021.03.16 01:30 Tue
