ヨーロッパリーグ(EL)・ラウンド32の1stレグが20日に開催される。グループステージを勝ち抜いた24チームと、チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)グループステージ3位敗退となった8チームを合わせた計32チームで争われるラウンド32。マンチェスター・ユナイテッドやアーセナル、インテルといった優勝候補、日本人選手所属クラブを中心にラウンド32初戦の見どころを紹介していく。

★優勝候補は恵まれた組み合わせ

ラウンド32に進んだ段階で優勝候補に挙がるのは3シーズン前の優勝チームであるマンチェスター・ユナイテッドと昨季準優勝チームのアーセナルのイングランド勢2チームに、大会最多優勝を誇るセビージャ、欧州で実績十分のインテルやアヤックス、ローマといった数チームだ。その優勝候補は今回のラウンドで比較的力の差がある格下との対戦となっている。

格下3チームとの対戦となったグループLを難なく首位通過したユナイテッドは、CL3位敗退組のクラブ・ブルージュと対戦。CLグループステージではFWデニスやFWディアタ、MFヴァナケンら好タレントがレアル・マドリー、パリ・サンジェルマン相手に奮闘も、ユナイテッドとの戦力差は大きい。国内リーグでは熾烈なトップ4争いに身を置き次節は前回対戦で敗れたワトフォードとの対戦となるためターンオーバーが見込まれるが、勝ち切る可能性は高いはずだ。

ユナイテッド同様にグループFを危なげなく首位通過したアーセナルは、CL3位敗退組のオリンピアコスと対戦する。CLグループステージではアーセナルの宿敵トッテナム相手に健闘したギリシャ王者だが、エースのポデンセを今冬ウォルバーハンプトンに引き抜かれており、戦力値を落としている。リーグ戦でユナイテッド以上に厳しい立ち位置にいるアルテタ率いるチームは、オリンピアコス戦の前後にエバートンとマンチェスター・シティ戦を控えており、難所で行われる今回の初戦でアドバンテージを得たい。

2シーズン連続CLグループステージ敗退となったインテルは、昨季に続いてEL途中参戦となる。そして、今ラウンドではブルガリア王者のルドゴレツと対戦する。国内リーグでは直近のラツィオ戦での敗戦によって3位に転落も首位のユベントスとの勝ち点差はわずかに「2」。したがって国内リーグ最優先のシフトを組む中、このELではMFエリクセンら今冬の新戦力の戦術浸透やFWエスポージトら若手の育成の場としたい。

優勝候補の中で最も難敵を引いたのはCL敗退組のアヤックス。昨季CLベスト4ながらチェルシーとバレンシアの後塵を拝したオランダ王者は、今季のラ・リーガでレアル・マドリー、バルセロナに次ぐ3位に躍進するヘタフェと対戦する。そのヘタフェは直近のリーグ戦でアヤックスの兄弟クラブとも言えるバルセロナ相手に善戦を見せており、アヤックスも苦戦必至だ。また、ここ数試合セリエAで苦境に立たされているローマは、今冬の移籍市場でFW久保裕也がMLSに旅立ったヘントと対戦する。

★長谷部&鎌田vs奥川の日本人対決!

今季のEL決勝トーナメントではグループステージを勝ち抜いたフランクフルトMF長谷部誠、MF鎌田大地、ポルトFW中島翔哉、AZのDF菅原由勢の4選手、CL3位敗退組のザルツブルクMF奥川雅也の合計5選手が参戦する。

その中で再注目は長谷部&鎌田vs奥川の日本人対決だ。昨年のELベスト4のフランクフルトは今季のグループステージでアーセナルに次ぐ2位でグループFを突破。そのグループステージではアーセナル相手に2ゴールを奪った鎌田の活躍がハイライトのひとつとなっていたが、その鎌田は後半戦に入った国内リーグでポジション争いに苦戦。直近の公式戦5試合で1試合の出場に留まっており、4バックへの変更や好調なMFガシノビッチの存在によってポジションを失っている。また、長谷部もリベロのポジションがなくなり本職のボランチでのプレーが続くが、こちらも出場時間を大幅に減らしている。そのため、国内リーグよりも出場チャンスが訪れそうなELできっちりアピールしたいところだ。

一方、FW南野拓実のリバプールへのステップアップによってザルツブルク唯一の日本人選手となった奥川は今季ここまでの国内リーグで7ゴール6アシストと安定した成績を残している。直近のリーグ戦でも1ゴールを挙げており、今回の日本人対決に良い弾みを付けることに成功している。

中島が所属するポルトは今ラウンドでCL3位敗退組のレバークーゼンと対戦。レンジャーズやフェイエノールトと同居したグループGを首位通過したポルトは、国内リーグでは宿敵ベンフィカを勝ち点1差で追う2位に位置。直近のリーグ戦では4連勝と好調を維持しており、FWベイリーやMFハフェルツ、DFターら好タレントを擁する難敵との初戦に良い形で臨めるはずだ。グループステージで2試合の出場に留まった中島に関しては直近のヴィトーリア戦で後半終盤に途中出場を果たすなど、先月に負ったケガは癒えておりベンチから出場のチャンスを目指すことになる。

初参戦のELグループステージで充実のプレーをみせ、グループLをユナイテッドに次ぐ2位通過を果たしたAZの菅原は、オーストリアの強豪リンツと対戦する。フェイエノールト、PSVの低迷でアヤックスに次ぐエールディビジ2位に躍進する絶好調のチームにおいて菅原はここ数試合ベンチを温める機会が増えているが、直近のトゥベンテ戦は味方のケガの影響で途中出場から60分ほどのプレー機会を得ており、今回の試合でプレー機会を得る可能性は十分にありそうだ。

「美しいユニフォーム」「これは好き」ドルトムントが本拠地の50周年を祝った特別ユニフォームを発表! 喜ぶファンからは悲鳴も「何枚買わせるつもりだ」

「相手に恐怖を与える赤」ストイコビッチ監督率いるセルビアがユーロ用のユニフォームを発表!アウェイは「大会で最も優れたデザインの 1 つ」

「そのパターンは何?」「パズルみたい」オーストリアのユーロ用新ユニフォームはかつて流行した建築様式をイメージ!「面白い」「初めて見た」

「有刺鉄線?」珍しいストライプには困惑も?前回大会8強のスイスがユーロ用の新ユニフォームを発表

チェコ代表がユーロ用の新ユニフォームを発表!アウェイは史上最強と名高い2004年のデザインをイメージ
