北海道コンサドーレ札幌を退団した元イングランド代表FWジェイ・ボスロイドが、息子との幸せなひと時を共有した。
2017年にジュビロ磐田から札幌へ完全移籍したジェイは、5シーズンプレー。J1で107試合に出場し35得点、カップ戦で14試合2得点を記録していたが、コロナ禍で2年間家族に会えない辛さを明かし、昨シーズン限りで退団。母国へと帰国していた。
帰国後には早速妻との2ショットをインスタグラムにアップするなど、待望の時間を過ごしているジェイだが、息子との思い出もできたようだ。
ジェイは4日にもインスタグラムを更新。「今日、息子に初めてサッカーシューズを買ってあげたらとても気に入ったようで、履いて寝ることにしたみたい おめでとう」と綴り、ベッドでスヤスヤ眠る愛息の写真を投稿。その足元には新品のアディダスのサッカースパイクを履いていた。
ジェイ一家の幸せが伝わってくるような1枚には「なんて素晴らしい瞬間なんだ」、「とっても可愛い」といったコメントが寄せられている。ただでさえ嬉しい息子との思い出がサッカーにまつわるものということで、ジェイの喜びもひとしおだったのではないだろうか。

家族の問題もあり、シーズン終了を前に札幌を退団したジェイ。すでにイングランドに戻り、妻と再会したことを自身のインスタグラムで報告していた。
ジュビロ磐田、そして札幌で多くのゴールを決め、Jリーグにもその名を刻んだジェイだが、すでに母国で仕事を始めているようだ。
ジェイは自身のインスタグラムを更新。『スカイ・スポーツ』の解説を務めていることを報告した。
ジェイは、4日に行われたチャンピオンンシップ(イングランド2部)第21節のコヴェントリー・シティvsWBAで解説を務めた様子。自身がプロキャリアをスタートさせた古巣でもあるコヴェントリーの試合を担当していた。
解説には、サンダーランドなどで活躍し、WBAでもプレーしたケビン・フィリップス氏、リーズ・ユナイテッドやシェフィールド・ウェンズデイでプレーしたデイビッド・プラットン氏と共に参加。試合は、1-2でWBAが勝利していた。
ジェイはインスタグラムに解説をしている様子をアップし、感想を綴った。
「コヴェントリー・シティとWBAの試合を、ケビン・フィリップスとデイビッド・プラットンと一緒に取材した素晴らしい1日だった」
「とても良い試合だったが、コヴェントリーの方が良いサッカーをしていたにもかかわらず、WBAの方が切れ味が良かったと思う」
「でも、コヴェントリーは今年のこれまでの成果をポジティブに受け止めるべきで、この試合から多くのポジティブなものを得ることができるはずだ」

そのジェイは、今シーズン限りでの退団を発表。11月28日に、シーズン終了を待たずに帰国することが決定し、空港には大勢のファンが見送りに来るなど、最後まで愛されながら日本を去った。
退団の理由には家族の問題を挙げており、コロナ禍で2年間家族に会えない辛さがあったことを明かしていたジェイ。しかし、無事にイギリスへと戻ると、早速妻との2ショットをインスタグラムにアップした。
ジェイは。「やっぱり家が一番! 奥さんを喜ばせるのが得策だ」と2ショット共に投稿。愛する妻との久々の再会できて嬉しいようだ。

北海道コンサドーレ札幌の元日本代表MF小野伸二が、クラブを退団する元イングランド代表FWジェイ・ボスロイドへとメッセージを送った。
札幌は25日、ジェイとの契約満了を発表。家族と過ごせない時間もあったこの2年間を考え、ジェイは退団を決意していた。
2017年に札幌へ完全移籍すると、5シーズンプレー。J1で107試合に出場し35得点、カップ戦で14試合2得点を記録していた。
惜しまれる中での退団、そしてイングランドへと帰国するジェイには、タイ代表MFチャナティップも惜別メッセージを送っていたが、ジェイは28日に日本を経ちイングランドへ帰国した。
小野は、自身のインスタグラムでジェイとの2ショットなどを投稿。英語で別れのメッセージを送った。

27日に行われた明治安田生命J1リーグ第37節の北海道コンサドーレ札幌vs柏レイソルで、J1リーグ戦通算2万4000ゴールが決まった。
メモリアルゴールを記録したのは札幌のFWミラン・トゥチッチ。2-1で迎えた47分に記録した。
右サイドを仕掛けた小柏剛がボックス右からグラウンダーのクロス。マイナスのボールをチャナティップがダイレクトではたくと、後方から走り込んだ金子拓郎がダイレクトで折り返し、最後はミラン・トゥチッチが押し込んだ。
ミラン・トゥチッチはこの試合で先制ゴールを奪い、加入後初ゴール。この試合の2点目がメモリアルゴールとなっていた。
札幌の選手がメモリアルゴールを記録するのは、今回が2度目。2万3000ゴールを今季限りで退団する元イングランド代表FWジェイ・ボスロイドが記録していた。
また、今シーズンは5月26日の第16節、湘南ベルマーレvs川崎フロンターレの一戦で川崎FのFWレアンドロ・ダミアンが2万3500ゴール目を記録していた。

北海道コンサドーレ札幌のタイ代表MFチャナティップ・ソングラシンが元イングランド代表FWジェイ・ボスロイドに惜別のメッセージを送った。
190cmのパワーファイター・ジェイと158cmのテクニシャン・チャナティップは、ともに2017年の夏に札幌へと加入した。
タイプの異なる2人のアタッカーは赤黒の攻撃をけん引し、ミハイロ・ペトロヴィッチ監督が就任した2018年にはクラブ史上J1最高成績となる4位フィニッシュに貢献。翌年には初のルヴァンカップ決勝進出をもたらすなど、札幌のJ1史を積み上げてきた。
25日にジェイの契約満了が発表され、最良のコンビは今季限りで見納めに。本当の兄弟のようにジェイを慕っていたチャナティップは、自身のインスタグラムにジェイとの思い出の写真を投稿するととともに、惜別のメッセージを綴った。
「初めて会った時から親切にしてくれて本当にありがとう。何年もあなたと仕事をしていろんなことを学びました。幸運を祈っています。またね、愛する兄さん」
この投稿に対してジェイも「愛しているよ弟、いつだってね」と返答するなど、仲の良さをうかがわせている。現在は12位でACL出場権や残留争いとも絡みのない札幌だが、2人の想いは残り2試合における勝利に対する大きなモチベーションとなるだろう。

北海道コンサドーレからの退団が発表された元イングランド代表FWジェイ・ボスロイドが、自身のツイッターで想いを綴った。
ジェイは、アーセナルのユース出身で、コヴェントリー・シティやペルージャ、ブラックバーン、チャールトン、ウォルバーハンプトン、ストーク・シティ、カーディフ、QPR、シェフィールド・ウェンズデイとイギリス国内でプレーを続けた。
2014年にはタイのムアントン・ユナイテッドに移籍すると、2015年にジュビロ磐田へと加入しJリーグでの挑戦をスタート。2015年はJ2で32試合に出場し20得点を記録しJ2得点王。チームをJ1昇格に導くと、2年目はJ1で22試合に出場し14得点を記録した。
2017年に札幌へ完全移籍すると、ここまで5シーズンプレー。J1で106試合に出場し35得点、カップ戦で14試合2得点を記録していた。
そのジェイは28日に帰国することが決定。シーズン終了前に帰国することとなる。
ジェイは自身のツイッターを更新。クラブとは以前から話をしていたと言い、コロナ禍で家族と会えない日々が辛かったと心境を綴りつつ、札幌への愛情を示し、キャリアを振り返るとした。
「僕とクラブは、しばらく前から将来について話し合ってきた。その結果、僕が札幌を離れる決断をした。この2年間は、家族と離れて暮らすことになり、非常に辛いものだった」
「札幌でのプレーはとても楽しかった。この素晴らしい街で暮らすこともできた。特に最初の1年半は多くのことを成し遂げた」
「できるだけ試合を見て、兄弟たちを応援したいと思っている。以前のように、毎日家族と一緒に過ごすことができるので、今は幸せだ」
「ここから数週間、札幌での僕の生活、浮き沈み、そしてクラブへの期待を少しずつ振り返っていきたいと思う」

川辺は2014年にサンフレッチェ広島のトップチームに昇格。2015シーズンから2017シーズンまで3年にわたって磐田に期限付き移籍で在籍し、ジェイとは2年間共闘した経験を持つ。
過去にはJリーグで感銘を受けた選手として、セレッソ大阪に在籍していた元ウルグアイ代表FWディエゴ・フォルラン氏、川崎フロンターレに所属する元日本代表MF家長昭博に加えて川辺の名も挙げていたジェイが、川辺の代表初招集を受けて反応した。

日本代表がオーストリアのグラーツへ集合。合宿2日目となった10日のトレーニング前にオンラインでのメディア取材に応じた。
10月に引き続いて招集を受けたFW鈴木武蔵(ベールスホット)だが、海外組となったことでの変化があったとコメントした。
「海外に来て、より個人で戦うという場面が増えて、他の人に比べて(海外に)来て短いですが、代表でも必ずレギュラーを勝ち取って、絶対的な選手になりたいという気持ちが国内にいる時よりもさらに高まったという感じはしました」
海外挑戦によりモチベーションが上がったとした鈴木だが「徐々に高まったという感じです。海外に来て、よりそれが強くなったという感じです。今まではどこか代表に来てもよそ者という感覚でやっていた自分がいました」と、かつての苦悩を明かした。
“よそ者”ということについては、「慣れていないのが一番正しいですかね。A代表に初めて入ったのが去年の25歳で、昔からA代表に入っている選手でもないです」とし、これまでは慣れていなかったものの、今はそう感じる事はないようだ。
日本と海外の違いについては「全然違うというか、日本に居た時は言葉も全部わかるし、理解できるし、友達も周りにたくさん居て、家族もいて、戦術理解もできます」と国内でのプレーについてコメント。一方で「海外に来たら通訳なしで、ミーティングも英語でコミュニケーションも英語で、1人で生活するというのが、僕には良いストレスの掛かり方だったかなと思います」とし、苦しい状況が鈴木にはプラスに働いたと感じているようだ。
10月の活動では、コートジボワール代表戦に先発出場していた鈴木。自身のプレーについては「自分の良さは出せたと思いますけど、結果のところが一番欲しかった部分なので、FWとしてそこが本当に悔しい思いが強かったです」とゴールを決められなかったことを反省していた。
代表でのプレーについては「僕は僕のやり方で地位を確立させたいと思っています。背後を取るところやゴール前の動きは、常に意識して、どんどん出していきたいと思います」と、自身の特長を前面に出したいと語った。
現在自身が求めていることについては、「僕個人としては(10月は)シュート数が少なかったなと思っていて、どんどん1試合を通して1本でも多くシュートを打つというのは意識しないといけないと思います。自分を出していって、試合に臨みたいと思います」とコメント。「1試合のシュート数は僕の方で気にする方ですが、FWとしてシュートチャンスにどれだけ顔を出せるか、得点を奪う上で一番大事だと思っているので、さらに意識してやっていきたいです」と、シュートの意識を高く持って行くことを強調した。
コートジボワール戦ではポストプレーも目立っていた鈴木。何かとFW大迫勇也(ブレーメン)と比較される事は多いが、自身はポストプレーを改善しながらも、そこに拘らないと語った。
「ベルギーではフィジカルがすごく強い相手といつもやれているので、そこら辺は徐々にですけど、前よりできるようになって来たかなと思います。僕の場合はそこに重きを全部置かないでやっていきたいと思っています」
「僕には僕の色があって、ポストプレーをやらないわけではなく、ポストプレーも進化しないといけないですが、そこだけにフォーカスしないようにしています。大迫選手と比較されて僕が劣っているというのはわかっていますが、そこが100%特長ではない。僕の特長で勝負したいと意識しています」
また、北海道コンサドーレ札幌時代の同僚である元イングランド代表FWジェイ・ボスロイドのプレーは非常に参考になっていたとコメント。今も良い関係を築いており、札幌のファン・サポーターの支えも大事だと語った。
「ジェイも良きライバルであり、良き親友でもありました。札幌でジェイのプレーを見たり、受ける場所、体の使い方、ファーストタッチの受ける場所は本当に勉強になりました」
「体の使い方は上手いです。ただ大きいだけじゃなく、しっかり体も使えているのは間近で見られて勉強になりました。ライバルでありながら僕にアドバイスをくれたりして、良い関係性が今でも続けられています」
「選手もサポーターも僕を応援してくれていることはありがたいですし、チームを去った人間にも応援してくれることは海外生活で頑張れる要因にもなっています」
その鈴木だが、予てから目標としているのはプレミアリーグとのこと。そこに近づけるように、日々努力すると語った。
「これは今思い始めたというよりも、サッカー選手になってからずっと思っていましたが、プレミアリーグでいつかプレーしたいなと思いながらプロ生活を始めました。そこは僕の1つの目標ではあります」
「年齢的にはどうなるか分からないですが、必ずもっともっと点とって、少しでも近づけるようにという思いでやっています」
