ベシクタシュは25日、ヴァレリアン・イスマエル氏(46)を新指揮官に招へいしたことを発表した。契約期間は2023年6月30日までとなるが、1年の延長オプションが付随している。
昨シーズンはスュペル・リグとテュルキエ・クパスの国内2冠を達成したベシクタシュ。しかし、今シーズンは開幕から深刻な低迷に陥り、昨年12月にセルゲン・ヤルチン前監督が辞任した。
その後、クラブはオンデル・カラベリを暫定指揮官に据えたものの、首位トラブゾンスポルとの勝ち点差は24ポイントに広がっている。
この状況を受け、新指揮官としてイスマエル氏を招へいすることになった。
現役時代にセンターバックとしてストラスブール、ブレーメン、バイエルンで活躍したイスマエル氏は、ニュルンベルクやヴォルフスブルク、LASKリンツの指揮官を歴任。直近ではチャンピオンシップ(イングランド2部)のバーンズリー、WBAの指揮官を務めていた。

ベシクタシュは9日、セルゲン・ヤルチン監督(49)の辞任を発表した。
ベシクタシュは、今シーズンのスュペル・リグで首位のトラブゾンスポルと18ポイント差の9位に低迷しており、直近は5連敗と絶不調の状況だった。さらに、チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)では7日に行われたドルトムント戦に敗れ、屈辱的な6戦全敗での敗退となっていた。
これを受け、クラブはヤルチン監督の辞任の申し出を受け入れる形となった。
なお、現時点で後任人事は未定となっているが、先日にプレミアリーグのノリッジ・シティを解任されたドイツ人指揮官のダニエル・ファルケ氏らが候補として名前が挙がっているようだ。
現役時代にトルコ代表MFとして活躍したヤルチン監督は、ベシクタシュの3度のリーグ制覇など、通算10個のタイトル獲得に貢献したレジェンド。現役引退後はベシクタシュの下部組織で指導者キャリアをスタートし、ガジアンテスポルやシヴァスポルといった国内の複数クラブの指揮官を歴任した後、2020年に古巣のトップチームの指揮官に就任した。
昨シーズンはスュペル・リグとテュルキエ・クパスの国内2冠を達成し、クラブ史上初となる選手と指揮官としてスュペル・リグを制する偉業を成し遂げていた。

22日、トルコのアダナ・デミルスポルに所属する元イタリア代表FWマリオ・バロテッリの行為に対し、アダナ・デミルスポルのムラト・サンジャク会長とベシクタシュのセルゲン・ヤルチン監督が声明を述べた。
21日に行われた第6節のベシクタシュ戦でベンチスタートとなったバロテッリは、1-3とビハインドの中で67分に途中出場。79分に強烈なミドルシュートを決めると、相手指揮官のセルゲン・ヤルチン監督に対し、自分の頭を指差して挑発するポーズを示していた。
事の発端は2013年にマンチェスター・シティに所属していたバロテッリが、親善試合で絶好機を失敗したシーンについて、当時解説者を務めていたヤルチン氏が「脳がない」と一蹴したこと。今回の件は、8年越しの復讐と報じられていた。
これらの行動について、アダナ・デミルスポルのムラト・サンジャク会長は「どちらも間違っていた」と、次のようにコメントした。
「それが起こらなかったらよかったのに。セルゲンの以前の発言は正しくなかったし、バロテッリの事件も正しくなかった」
「彼(セルゲン)はバロテッリに自分に夢中だなと言い、彼(バロテッリ)も反応した。とにかく、狂った人は誰かに狂ってるなんて言えない」
「ベシクタシュとアダナ・デミルスポルのファンは兄弟なので、それが起こらなかったらいいのにと。双方がもっと敏感だったらもっといいと思う」
一方で、ベシクタシュのセルゲン・ヤルチン監督は当時のことと今回のことは別問題だとしている。
「あの後主審はイエローカードを提示して彼を罰した。試合後、我々の社長とコーチはバロテッリの行動が間違っていたと述べた」
「トルコ全土が彼の侮辱と行動を見ただろう。相手チームのアシスタントコーチであるムラト・シャヒンが言葉にできない暴言を発したにもかかわらず、アダナ・デミルスポルは試合を終わらせ、選手と技術委員会はロッカールームへ引き上げた」
