24日、バルセロナvsマンチェスター・シティの親善試合がカンプ・ノウで行われ、3-3のドローに終わった。
今回の一戦はALS(筋萎縮性側索硬化症)の研究資金を募ることを目的に実施されたチャリティーマッチ。かつてバルセロナでGKコーチやアシスタントコーチを務め、2年前にALS罹患を公表したフアン・カルロス・ウンスエ氏の呼びかけで実現していた。
この一戦を前に、ヴィッセル神戸の元スペイン代表MFアンドレス・イニエスタもこのチャリティーマッチを支持。自身のSNSを更新し、今回の試合用に製作されたタオルマフラーを掲げる姿を投稿すると、「みんなでALSに立ち向かう」と決意を語った。
古巣の慈善活動との連帯を示したイニエスタには「素晴らしい」、「人格者」といった声が届いたが、バルセロナサポーターからも期待の声が。「バルセロナも救って!」、「カンプノウで待ってます」、「あなたが帰ってくることをいつまでも望んでいます」などの反応が寄せられている。
2018年に神戸に加入し日本にやってきたイニエスタだが、それまではバルセロナで16シーズンもの間プレー。公式戦600試合以上に出場し、8度のラ・リーガ優勝や4度のチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)制覇など、トータルで31個のタイトル獲得に貢献していた。

ジローナは14日、フアン・カルロス・ウンスエ氏(52)の新監督就任を発表した。契約期間は1年間となるが、クラブがプリメーラ昇格を果たした場合、2年の契約延長オプションが発生する。
現役時代にGKとしてオサスナやバルセロナ、セビージャで活躍したウンスエ氏は、現役引退後古巣バルセロナでフランク・ライカールト監督、ジョゼップ・グアルディオラ監督の下でGKコーチを務めてきた。その後、ヌマンシアとラシンで監督を務めた後、2013年にルイス・エンリケ監督の副官として、セルタのコーチングスタッフに入閣。その翌年にはルイス・エンリケ監督と共にバルセロナに渡り、在任3年間で9つのタイトル獲得に貢献した。
2017年には古巣セルタに指揮官として3年ぶりの復帰を果たし、チームを12位で残留させたが、昨夏にはクラブと双方合意の下で契約を解消していた。
なお、今シーズン、エウセビオ監督の下でプリメーラ2年目を戦ったジローナだったが、最終的に18位フィニッシゅとなり3年ぶりのセグンダ降格となっていた。

▽セルタは19日、フアン・カルロス・ウンスエ監督(51)が今シーズン限りで退任することを発表した。クラブ公式サイトが伝えた。
▽現役時代はオサスナの下部組織で育ち、オサスナの他、バルセロナやセビージャ、テネリフェ、レアル・オビエドでプレー。引退後はバルセロナのGKコーチに就任し、監督としては2010年7月にヌマンシアでキャリアをスタートさせた。
▽ジョゼップ・グアルディオラ監督の下、バルセロナでGKコーチを務めると、2014年7月から2017年6月まではルイス・エンリケ監督のしたでバルセロナでアシスタントコーチを務め、2017年7月からセルタで指揮を執っていた。
▽契約期間は2019年6月まで残っているものの、クラブの発表によると、来シーズンは指揮を執らない事が決定。今シーズンは13勝10分け15敗の勝ち点49で12位だった。
