代表キャリアでギネス記録を保持している男が、最後の試合を戦った。
その選手はDFイルデフォン・リマ。アンドラ代表選手であり、現在43歳。代表キャリアは26年となった。
バルセロナ生まれのリマは、FCアンドラの下部組織育ち。1997年に昇格すると、エスパニョールのBやサント・アンドレウ、パチューカ、ラス・パルマス、ラージョ・バジェカーノなどでプレーした。
2012年7月にイタリアのトリエスティーナから古巣のFCアンドラへと復帰。その後チームを離れ、サンタ・コロマ、エスカルデスとアンドラ国内でプレーし、2022年9月からはFCアンドラのBチームでプレーしている。
アンドラ代表としてデビューしたのは、1997年6月のこと。17歳6カ月12日でデビューし、実に26年間、代表チームでプレー。キャプテンも務めていた。
2021年にはギネス世界記録に、代表選手としての最年長キャリアを達成した男子選手として認定。なお、女子選手では、1995年から2021年まで26年間ブラジル女子代表としてプレーしたフォルミガがいる。
そのリマは、12日に行われたユーロ2024予選のスイス代表戦に出場。43歳と276日での出場となり、キャプテンとして右サイドバックで起用されると、23分で交代。その際にはアンドラだけでなく、スイスのファンもスタンディングオベーションを行い、レジェンドを称えた。なお、試合は3-0で敗戦。リマの代表キャリアは136試合で11ゴールに終わった。
136試合のうち、リマが勝利したのは6試合のみ。結果だけ見れば輝かしい成績とは言えないが、人口わずか7万9000人しかいないアンドラにおいては英雄であり、ユーロ予選でプレーした最年長選手ともなった。ちなみに、アンドラ代表の最多ゴール保持者でもある。

オーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)に参加する各国23名のリストが、国際サッカー連盟(FIFA)から11日に正式発表された。
女子W杯としては初となる南半球での大会であり、共同開催でもある今大会。参加チームは「32」へ拡大され、フィリピン、ベトナム、モロッコ、ザンビア、ハイチ、パナマ、ポルトガル、そしてアイルランドが初出場となっている。
登録メンバーの最年長は40歳のナイジェリア女子代表DFオノメ・エビで、自身にとっても6度目のW杯となる。歴代最年長はブラジル女子代表でプレーしていたMFフォルミガの41歳112日。
最年少はアメリカ生まれの韓国女子代表FWケイシー・フェアで、6月29日に16歳の誕生日を迎えたばかり。グループステージ第2戦までに出場すれば、1999年のアメリカ大会で記録したナイジェリアのFWイフェアニ・チエイネ(当時16歳34日)の数字を塗り替えることとなる。
また、なでしこジャパンの平均年齢は24.8歳で、32チーム中4番目に若い。
そのほか、いずれも6度目の出場となるブラジル女子代表FWマルタとカナダ女子代表FWクリスティン・シンクレアは、過去に出場した5大会すべてでゴールを記録。男女通じて世界初となるW杯6大会連続ゴールの偉業が懸かっている。

現地時間27日、ブラジルサッカー連盟(CBF)はオーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)に臨むブラジル女子代表23名を発表。FWマルタ(オーランド・プライド/37)は自身6度目の大会を迎えることとなる。
マルタ・ヴィエイラ・ダ・シルバ、通称マルタは、これまでFIFA最優秀選手賞を6度受賞し、ブラジルのみならず世界の女子サッカーを牽引してきた。W杯にも過去5回出場。全ての大会でゴールを決め、男女通じてもW杯最多となる計17得点をマークしている。
マルタの選出は、母国『ge globo』はもちろんのこと、イギリス『BBC』など各国メディアにも取り上げられ、国際サッカー連盟(FIFA)もその偉大な経歴を紹介している。
マルタにとって初のW杯は2003年アメリカ大会。当時17歳ながらも3得点を挙げている。2007年中国大会では母国史上初の決勝進出に貢献。ドイツ女子代表に敗れて準優勝に終わったが、マルタは7ゴールをマークし、大会MVPと得点王のダブル受賞を果たした。
なお、W杯5大会連続ゴールを記録しているのは、カナダ女子代表FWクリスティン・シンクレア(ポートランド・ソーンズFC)とポルトガル代表FWクリスティアーノ・ロナウド(アル・ナスル)の3選手のみ。マルタが今大会で得点を挙げれば、記録を塗り替えることになる。
ブラジルでは7度のW杯、7度のオリンピック出場を誇るフォルミガが去り、クリスティアーネも招集が見送られた。ピア・スンドハーゲ監督は「左ヒザの回復状況も鑑みて(マルタの)スタメンは確約できない」としながらも「マルタは女王であり、象徴だ。エネルギーに満ち溢れており、技術はもちろん、いるだけでチームは向上する」と、信頼を寄せる。
男子は歴代最多5度のW杯制覇を成しているブラジルだが、女子は育成年代のW杯を含めても優勝がない。カナリーニャス初の栄冠へ向け、マルタは歴史的なゴールを生み出すことができるだろうか。

ブラジル女子代表MFフォルミガ(43)が今月の代表戦をもって代表引退を決断した。
ブラジルサッカー連盟(CBF)は9日、今月25日にマナウスで行われるインド女子代表との国際親善試合がフォルミガにとって代表ラストマッチとなることを発表した。
1995年に17歳の若さでカナリーニョスデビューを果たしたフォルミガは、これまで歴代最多の233試合に出場。男女を通じて唯一となる通算7度のワールドカップ(W杯)出場に加え、7度のオリンピック出場を果たした女子サッカー界のレジェンドの1人だ。
この間に2004年のアテネ五輪、2008年の北京五輪で銀メダルを獲得している。先の東京五輪においても準々決勝のカナダ女子代表戦に先発出場するなど、健在ぶりを披露していた。
クラブレベルでは、サンパウロやポルトゥゲーザ、サントスなど母国でプレー。その後はアメリカやスウェーデンなどの様々なクラブを転々とすると、2017年1月に38歳でパリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)へと加入。現在は母国の古巣サンパウロに復帰し、2022年末までの契約を結んでいる。

パリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)が42歳のMFと契約延長を発表した。
今回PSGが契約を延長したのは、ブラジル女子代表MFフォルミガ。2021年6月30日まで1年間の契約延長を締結した。
フォルミガは、サンパウロやポルトゥゲーザ、サントスなど南米でプレー。その後は様々なクラブを転々とすると、2017年1月に38歳でPSGへと加入した。
PSGでは公式戦77試合に出場し4ゴールを記録。2017-18シーズンはカップ戦優勝に貢献していた。
また、女子チャンピオンズリーグではラウンド16のブラガ戦でゴールを記録。41歳193日でのゴールとなり、歴代最年長記録を樹立した。
ブラジル女子代表としても198試合に出場し、女子ワールドカップは7大会に出場。オリンピックにも6度出場しており、2020年の東京オリンピックでブラジル女子代表のキャリアを終えようとしていたが、新型コロナウイルス(COVID-19)の感染拡大を受けて1年延期となり、2021年の東京オリンピック出場を目指すという。
