リバプールvsマンチェスター・シティの一戦に、世界有数の元スター選手もシビれたようだ。
10日、プレミアリーグ第28節でリバプールとシティが対戦。両軍1点ずつ分けあって1-1ドローとなった一戦は、世界最高峰のリーグの首位攻防戦であると同時に、当代屈指の洗練されたチームどうしの激突…全世界がその90分間を見守った。
黄金期のセリエAでひときわ眩い存在だった元イタリア代表FWアレッサンドロ・デル・ピエロ氏も、おそらくその1人。リバプールvsシティの終了後、自身のインスタグラムで、試合終了直後に抱擁する両軍指揮官の写真とともに、「Grazie!!!(ありがとう)」という文章をストーリーズに載せた。
当代最強・欧州王者のシティを築き上げたジョゼップ・グアルディオラ監督と、イングランド随一の名門リバプールに再び命を吹き込んだユルゲン・クロップ監督。
前者は現役時代、ブレシアやローマでユベントス時代のデル・ピエロ氏と対戦。後者は今季限りのリバプール退任が決定済み。いちファンとして当代世界最強チームどうしの一戦、“ペップ・シティvsクロップ・レッズ"を見守ったデル・ピエロ氏にも、感慨深いものがあったようだ。
ちなみに『フットボール・イタリア』いわく、デル・ピエロ氏はリバプールvsシティの直後、ユベントスvsアタランタを観戦したとのことだが、古巣が2-2ドローに終わった一戦について、何らSNSでリアクションしなかったという。

元イタリア代表FWアレッサンドロ・デル・ピエロ氏が、古巣ユベントスとインテルによるイタリア・ダービーを論評した。『フットボール・イタリア』が伝えている。
ビアンコネリのアイコン、デル・ピエロ氏。カルチョのライバルクラブファンからも一目置かれたスーパースターは、今なおユベンティーノから絶大な支持を集め、幾度となく復帰待望論が持ち上がる。
2014年の引退から指導者に転身することなく、まもなく10年の歳月が経過するが、4日にはセリエA2位の古巣ユベントスが敵地で首位インテルと対戦。スクデットを占う直接対決はユーベDFフェデリコ・ガッティのOGにより、1-0と勝利したインテルが勝ち点「3」を積み上げた。
この一戦を自宅のあるロサンゼルスから見届けたであろうデル・ピエロ氏は、イタリア『スカイ・スポーツ』のインタビューに応じ、シモーネ・インザーギ監督率いるインテルの完成度を称え、ユベントス相手の勝利は必然とした。
「全てにおいて成熟したチームと、そうとは言えないチーム。私はこの違いを目の当たりにした」
「まずはインテル。指向するプレーモデルの徹底、選手とコーチの自尊心、攻撃のタイミング、後方へ撤退するタイミング、団結力…どれをとっても優れており、何より『自発的にアクション』を起こせる優れた集団だ」
「対するユベントスはチーム全体がフィジカル能力に長け、ピッチ上で効率よくプレーすることができる。ディフェンスも決して悪くない」
「しかし、今回のような頂上対決では、これらの要素だけでは足りない。インテルはユベントスにない『主体性』を持っており、締まったゲーム展開の中でもそれを発揮した。ユベントスは相手がインテル以外なら勝てたかもしれないが、今日は不十分だ」
インザーギ監督が率いてピッチ全体でダイナミズム溢れるサッカーを指向するインテルと、マッシミリアーノ・アッレグリ監督率いてどちらかと言えば”リアクション型”のユベントス。デル・ピエロ氏は「受け身になりがちだとタイトルは獲れないよ」とし、古巣に攻撃面の改善を呼びかけた。

ユベントスは9日、FW日向小次郎とのコラボレーションを発表した。
世界中で大人気のサッカー漫画『キャプテン翼』に登場するキャラクター。主人公である大空翼のライバル的な存在。「タイガーショット」のは大きな人気を誇り、ファンも多いキャラクターだ。
イタリアでも『Holly e Benji(オーリ・エ・ベンジ)』という名で知られる人気作品で、1986年からイタリアで親しまれている。ユベントスのアレッサンドロ・デル・ピエロ氏なども愛読。世界中のサッカー選手に愛されるサッカー漫画だ。
キャラクターの小学生時代からスタートする『キャプテン翼』だが、日向は東邦学園高等部からユベントスへと入団。背番号「9」を着用している。なおイタリア版ではマーク・レンダーズという名前で知られている。
ユベントスは「タイガーショットが帰ってくる:日向小次郎×ユベントス」キャンペーンとして、コラボレーションを発表。ユベントスのブランドマネージャーであるジャンマルコ・ピノ氏がコメントしている。
「このキャラクターは、クラブがアニメの世界に参入する機会を表している」
「そして、ユベントスが新しい言語を使って常に前進する方法を知っていることを改めて示した」
ユベントスは日向とのコラボシャツを販売。ホワイトベースのシャツに胸には「小次郎78日向」と漢字でロゴがデザイン。背中には「78」の背番号と「HYUGA」の文字に加え、ユベントスの黒いユニフォームを着用した日向小次郎のキャラクターもデザインされている。
現地のファンは「ウォーー」、「背中が最高だ」、「素晴らしい出来だ」、「こんなことがあって良いのか」と驚きと喜びの声。しかし、このシャツは発表から即完売という異例の事態。「もう売り切れてる」、「何度泣けばいいのか…」、「もっと在庫を置け」と悲しみのコメントも寄せられている。

ユベントスは10日、アニェッリ家のクラブ所有から100年を記念したイベント「Togetter, a Black & White show 」をトリノで開催した。
1923年にエドアルド・アニェッリ氏がオーナーに就任し、以降アニェッリ家が代々オーナーを務めているユベントス。現在もアニェッリ家のメンバーの1人であるジョン・エルカーン氏が会長を務めている。
ユベントスのイベントには多くのクラブレジェンドたちも参加。元フランス代表MFジネディーヌ・ジダン氏のチーム・ジダンと元イタリア代表FWアレッサンドロ・デル・ピエロ氏のチーム・デル・ピエロの対決も行われ、チーム・ジダンが9-6で勝利していた。

元イタリア代表FWアレッサンドロ・デル・ピエロ氏(48)がサウジアラビアでサッカー界に復帰する可能性もあるようだ。
先月の来日時、イタリア代表時代に日韓ワールドカップ(W杯)も戦った札幌ドームを訪れていたデル・ピエロ氏。イタリアを代表する名門ユベントスのアイコンであり、カルチョ全体でも指折りのバンディエラに数えられるスーパースターだ。
そんなデル・ピエロ氏だが、2014年に40歳でスパイクを脱いで以降、セカンドキャリアで監督もコーチも務めておらず、ユベントス復帰待望論が持ち上がっても実現しないまま10年近い歳月が流れた。
そんななか、イタリア『カルチョメルカート』でコラムニストを務めるイタリアサッカー連盟(FIGC)の現役理事であり、イタリア『トゥット・スポルト』の編集長も務めたジャンルカ・パドバン氏が最新のコラムでデル・ピエロ氏の近況を解説。どうやらサッカー界復帰の動きがあるようだ。
「この夏はデル・ピエロにとって実り多き期間となったようだよ。最近はUEFAプロライセンス・コーチングコースの課程を修め、イタリア代表でもセリエAでも全てのプロカテゴリーで指導できるようになったんだ」
「ほんの2日前にはアル・ナスルからスポーツ・ディレクター(SD)職のオファーがあるという一報が中東から届き、これは事実であることが確認された。そして、デル・ピエロ本人も飛行機に乗ってリヤドへ降り立ったことも確認された」
「このオファーは現場(監督やコーチ)ではなく、マネジメントに関わる仕事なわけだが、私が言いたいのは、まず彼が明らかにサッカーの世界へ戻りたいと考えているということ。もう一つはユベントス復帰という道以外ならどんな可能性でも開かれているということだ」
デル・ピエロ氏のサウジアラビア行きの可能性について言及しつつ、ユベントス復帰はないとしたパドバン氏。その理由も解説する。
「彼は整った人間であり、知性的な人間でもある。今のユベントスにはクリスティアーノ・ジュントリ(SD)がおり、上層部が競技面よりも経営面を重視しなくてはならない時期…こういったことをデル・ピエロも理解しているはずだ」
一方で「彼はオーストラリアとインドで選手キャリアを終え、現在はロサンゼルスに住んでいる男だ。サウジアラビアが魅力的に映っていることだろう。個人的にはその資金力を跳ね除け、最後はアル・ナスルに『ノー』と言ってくれると信じているよ。言うまでもない。彼が最も歓迎されるべき場所はイタリアだ」と母国帰還を呼びかけている。

その美しくも繊細で芸術的なプレーから、現役時代にはイタリアの画家である“ピントゥリッキオ”の異名を取ったデル・ピエロ氏。ユベントスやイタリア代表でも長く活躍したレジェンドだ。
近年はスポンサー活動やスポーツイベントへの参加を通し、アンバサダーとして各国を飛びまわるデル・ピエロ氏だが、本人の強い希望により2002年の日韓・ワールドカップでも試合した札幌ドームへの来場が決定。16日の明治安田生命J1リーグ第27節湘南ベルマーレ戦に来場していた。
その湘南戦では、「デルピエロゾーン フリーキックの壁体験」という企画が開催。デル・ピエロ氏が得意としていた左斜め45度の角度からのFKを蹴り、その壁役にファンが立つという夢の企画が実現していた。
計4本のFKを放ったデル・ピエロ氏だったが、そのうち1本は見事ゴール右上の隅へと吸い込まれていた。

イタリア代表MFマヌエル・ロカテッリがユベントスへの忠誠を誓った。
両親の影響により、元アマチュアサッカー選手である兄とともに幼少期から生粋のユベンティーノだったことが知られるロカテッリ。下部組織時代から過ごしたミランでは伸び悩むも、その後に放出されたサッスオーロで才能を開花させ、2021年8月18日、一家全員の夢であったユベントス移籍を実現させた。
ユベントスとの契約締結からちょうど2年が経過した18日、ロカテッリはインスタグラムを更新。契約書にサインした際の写真とともに「8月18日は子どもの頃からの夢を叶えた日。僕にとって、永遠に特別な日」と綴った。
暗黒時代に突入しているユベントス。2019-20シーズンのセリエA9連覇達成を最後にここ3年間は4位、4位、7位(勝ち点剥奪の影響)と年々成績が下降し、今シーズンは財政難に端を発した不正会計問題の影響で欧州カップ戦にすら出場できない。ロカテッリもまだ、ユベントスでトロフィーを掲げられていない。
それでも、ユベントスにセリエA9連覇という栄光が訪れたのは大きな苦難のあと。クラブの歴史上最大の汚点となったカルチョポリ(カルチョ・スキャンダル)でセリエB降格を余儀なくされ、1年でセリエA復帰も、2007-08シーズンからの4年間は3位、2位、7位、7位という成績だった。
たとえ長い歳月がかかろうとも、セリエBに落ちてもユベントス残留を選んだ自国のスーパースター、アレッサンドロ・デル・ピエロ氏やジャンルイジ・ブッフォン氏のように、これからユベントスが復権していくには並外れたクラブ愛を持つロカテッリの存在が重要となることだろう。

元イタリア代表FWのアレッサンドロ・デル・ピエロ氏は、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドでプレーしていた可能性もあったようだ。
セリエBのパドヴァでプロキャリアをスタートさせ、1993年にユベントスへと加わると、ファンタジスタとして一時代を築いたデル・ピエロ氏。2012年までの在籍で公式戦通算705試合出場し、290得点179アシストの成績を残した。
クラブの最盛期にプレーし、7度のセリエA制覇に加え、1995-96シーズンにはチャンピオンズリーグ優勝に大きく貢献。代表キャリアでも2006年のドイツ・ワールドカップで優勝を経験した。
そんなデル・ピエロ氏はイタリア『スカイ・スポーツ』で、選手時代にユナイテッドとの移籍話があったと回想。同クラブを20年以上指揮した名伯楽のサー・アレックス・ファーガソン氏からオファーを受けていたと明かした。
「アレックス・ファーガソンは私をユナイテッドに誘った。それは確かだ」
「彼の誘いはいつあったか?2000年以前だ。しかし、実はそれより後にもあった」
詳細については「これ以上は何も言わせないでほしいね」と笑いながら受け流したデル・ピエロ氏。結局、ヨーロッパではイタリアのみでしかプレーせずに現役を引退したが、プレミアリーグで活躍する姿を見ることができた可能性もあったようだ。

スーパーゴールを決めたブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオンの日本代表MF三笘薫が快挙を成し遂げた。
三笘は、21日に行われたレスター・シティ戦で先発すると、27分に先制ゴールを記録。左サイドでパスを受けると、ボックス左角付近で一気にスピードアップ。縦ではなくカットインすると、大きく持ち出したところから右足一閃。弧を描いたシュートがゴール右隅に決まった。
海外でも大きな話題となったスーパーゴールには、ロベルト・デ・ゼルビ監督も「素晴らしいゴール」と称賛。また、元イングランド代表FWマイケル・オーウェン氏も「ミトマは金銭的に最も価値のある選手だと思う」、元イタリア代表FWアレッサンドロ・デル・ピエロ氏は「おめでとう、ミトマ!素晴らしいゴールだ」と称えるほどだった。
その三笘は、プレミアリーグの週間ベストイレブンに選出。なんと2週連続での選出となった。
元イングランド代表FWアラン・シアラー氏が選出したベストイレブンに名を連ねた三笘。[4-3-3]の左サイドに配置された。
シアラー氏は「試合を重ねるごとに影響力を増していく彼のゴールは、まさに圧巻だった」と称賛の言葉を添えている。
カタール・ワールドカップ後のリーグ戦5試合で3ゴール。さらに記録には残らないアシスト未遂もあり、ブライトンの攻撃を牽引しているのは間違いない。
