▽プレミアリーグ制覇に近づいているマンチェスター・シティのジョゼップ・グアルディオラ監督が、海外挑戦についての見解を語った。イギリス『BBC』が伝えた。

▽イングランドの選手は、これまでの歴史を見ても多くの選手が国外リーグでプレーすることは少ない。

▽2006年のドイツ・ワールドカップ時には国外でプレーしていたのはデイビッド・ベッカムとオーウェン・ハーグリーブスのみ。しかし、ユーロやワールドカップなどのメジャー大会では、それ以降イングランド国外でプレーしている選手はメンバー入りしていない。

▽スペイン、イタリア、カタールでプレー経験があり、監督としてドイツでも指揮を執ったグアルディオラ監督は、スペイン代表の成功事例を挙げ、イングランド人選手が国外でプレーすることが代表チームに良い影響を与えるとの見解を示した。

「彼ら(スペイン国外でプレーする選手たち)が代表チームに戻った時、より強く、より良くなった」

「彼らはスペインのサッカーを助けてくれたし、とても良いことをしたと思う。それがイングランドのチームにとって有益かって? そうだろう」

▽現在は、ドルトムントに所属するMFジェイドン・サンチョやRBライプツィヒにレンタル移籍しているFWデモラ・ルックマンら若い選手が国外でプレーしている。グアルディオラ監督は、23歳以下の選手にとってはプレミリーグ2がより強力なものになる必要があると考えているようだ。

「プレミアリーグは裕福なリーグであると思うし、きっとイングランドの選手が残った方が良いとは思う」

「私にとって、最も重要なことはセカンドチームのリーグが強力になることだ。それがなければ、イングランド代表チームは難しい局面を迎えることになるだろう。これが私の個人的な見解だよ」

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】

「可愛い!」ペガサスに乗って宙を舞うイングランド代表FWサカの衝撃写真が話題沸騰「この男を愛さないわけにはいかない」

イングランド代表が新ユニフォームを発表、赤ではなくなったアウェイは賛否分かれる「初めてじゃないか?」「そのチョイスはなしだ」
