スイス代表FWのジェルダン・シャキリがカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)での大敗を謝罪した。スイス『Blick』が伝えている。

スイスは6日に行われたカタールW杯ラウンド16のポルトガル代表と対戦。シャキリも先発して、立ち上がりこそ互角の展開だったが、17分に先制点を許すと守勢に回り、33分にもセットプレーから失点を重ねる。後半も守備が大崩れし、58分にCKからDFマヌエル・アカンジが得点するも失点が止まらず、1-6のスコアで敗れた。

大敗でW杯から去ることになったシャキリは試合後の取材で落胆を隠さず。いつも通りのパフォーマンスを発揮できなかったことを嘆き、ファンに謝罪した。

「とても残念だね。ファンのみんなには、チームを代表してピッチ上でいつものパフォーマンスが発揮できなかったことを謝りたい。僕たちは多くの目標を掲げて大会に臨んだが、これもフットボールだ。時には限界を見せてしまうこともあり、今日はまさにそうだった。ゴールを決めたポルトガルは称賛に値するけど、それにしてもこの点差ができ過ぎだったのは間違いない」

「監督は僕たちにいつもプランを与えてくれるし、その上でみんなは自分たちのベストをピッチで発揮しようとする。ただ、今日はそれがうまくいかなかった。(3バックの採用は)みんな少し驚いたと思う。それでも僕らはプロフェッショナルであり、監督がどんなプランを出してくるかに耳を傾けるんだ。今日もプランはしっかりあったけど、残念ながらうまくいかなかったね」

リヒトシュタイナーが現役引退…ユベントスではセリエA7連覇に貢献

元スイス代表DFシュテファン・リヒトシュタイナー(36)が12日、自身の公式SNSを通じて現役引退を発表した。グラスホッパー、リール、ラツィオを経て2011年にユベントスに加入したリヒトシュタイナー。右ウイングバックや右サイドバックとして長らく不動の地位を築き、在籍7シーズンで公式戦通算259試に出場し、7度のセリエA優勝など数々のタイトルに貢献した。しかし、晩年は思うように出場機会を得ることができず、2018年の夏にユベントスを退団しアーセナルへ加入。その翌年にはアウグスブルクへと完全移籍した。そのアウグスブルクではブンデスリーガ20試合に出場し1アシストを記録。クラブの1部残留に貢献したが、2019-20シーズン限りで契約満了を迎えていた。また、2006年にデビューしたスイス代表では、歴代5位となる通算108試合に出場し8ゴール7アシストをマーク。3度のワールドカップ(2010,2014,2018)、2度ユーロ(2008,2016)に出場した。リヒトシュタイナーは12日に自身のツイッター(@LichtsteinerSte)にメッセージ動画を投稿。その中で｢僕は自分の将来について多くのことを考えており、サッカー選手としてのキャリアに終止符を打つことを決めた｣と、現役引退を決断したことを明かした。 2020.08.12 23:30 Wed
