【プレミアリーグ開幕節プレビュー】王者リバプールは昇格組リーズと対戦! トッテナムvsエバートンの好カードも

新型コロナウイルスによる異例の昨シーズンを経て、早くも2020-21シーズンが開幕する。

30年ぶりのリーグ王者に輝いたリバプールの開幕戦は昇格組リーズ・ユナイテッドとのホーム戦。今夏の移籍市場ではここまで目立った補強はないが、既存戦力と成長著しい若手らを擁したスカッドでも十分に連覇は狙える力はある。

17年ぶりのプレミア昇格となったリーズとは久しぶりの対戦だが、2001年4月の対戦を最後に過去8戦で負けなし。加えてホームでは2017年4月から59戦無敗が続いている。

一方、いきなり王者との激突を強いられることになったリーズは、2003年以来となるプレミアの舞台に向けて、バレンシアからFWロドリゴ・モレノ、ウルブスからFWエウデル・コスタ、フライブルクからDFロビン・コッホらを獲得。鬼才・ビエルサの手腕はどこまで通用するだろうか。

昨季4位のチェルシーは、リバプールとは対照的に超大型補強を決行。FWヴェルナーやMFツィエク、MFハフェルツ、DFチアゴ・シウバ、DFチルウェルら折り紙付きの実力者を次々と獲得し、プレミアどころか世界でも屈指のスカッドを作り上げた。

その試金石となる開幕節の相手はプレシーズンでも対戦したブライトン。だが、その親善試合でヒザを負傷したツィエクに加え、元々問題を抱えていたチルウェルは起用不可。チアゴ・シウバも調整不足で欠場する見込みだ。また、昨季のFAカップ決勝で退場したコバチッチも出場できない。

なお、プレミアリーグにおいてブライトンとは6度対戦しているがいずれも負けなし。勝てばユナイテッドとアーセナルに続いて通算勝ち点2000に到達する3クラブ目となる。また、チェルシーの開幕戦が月曜開催となったケースは過去に14-15、16-17シーズンと2回あるが、いずれも優勝している。

モウリーニョ体制2年目を迎えるトッテナムはホームでエバートンと対戦。トッテナムがDFドハーティやMFホイビュルク、GKハートなど的確かつ控えめな補強となった一方、エバートンはナポリからMFアラン、レアル・マドリーからMFハメス・ロドリゲスを獲得。今季の台風の目になると期待されている。

そんな両チームの対戦成績は、リーグ戦過去15試合においてトッテナムが8勝7分け。ケインはここ9試合で9得点を挙げている。

そして、新シーズンの開幕を飾るのはアーセナルだ。相手は昇格組のフルアムでロンドン・ダービーとなる。今夏のアーセナルはFWウィリアンをはじめ、DFガブリエウやDFセドリック・ソアレス、DFパブロ・マリを補強。アルテタ監督体制2年目で5年ぶりのベスト4進出を目指す。

先日に契約延長が発表されたFWオーバメヤンは、昇格組との対戦では直近13試合で12ゴール4アシストをマーク。18-19シーズンは今季同様に昇格チームだったフルアム相手に2試合で3ゴール1アシストを奪っている。

なお、バーンリーvsマンチェスター・ユナイテッド、マンチェスター・シティvsアストン・ビラの対戦カードは、ユナイテッドがヨーロッパリーグでベスト4、シティがチャンピオンズリーグでベスト8に進出したため延期となっている。

「美しいユニフォーム」「これは好き」ドルトムントが本拠地の50周年を祝った特別ユニフォームを発表! 喜ぶファンからは悲鳴も「何枚買わせるつもりだ」

「相手に恐怖を与える赤」ストイコビッチ監督率いるセルビアがユーロ用のユニフォームを発表!アウェイは「大会で最も優れたデザインの 1 つ」

「有刺鉄線?」珍しいストライプには困惑も?前回大会8強のスイスがユーロ用の新ユニフォームを発表

チェコ代表がユーロ用の新ユニフォームを発表!アウェイは史上最強と名高い2004年のデザインをイメージ
