▽ヨーロッパリーグ(EL)決勝トーナメント1回戦2ndレグが22日と23日に開催される。グループステージを勝ち抜いた24チームと、チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)グループステージ3位敗退となった8チームを合わせた計32チームで争われる今回のラウンド32。マンチェスター・ユナイテッドやトッテナム、ローマ、ビジャレアルといったビッグクラブに加え、DF内田篤人のシャルケ、MF瀬戸貴幸のアストラと日本人選手2人がベスト16進出を懸けて戦うラウンド32第2戦の展望を紹介していく。

★崖っぷちスパーズは聖地ウェンブリーで逆転なるか

▽先週行われた1stレグでは強豪チームが順当に勝利した中、唯一格下相手に取りこぼしたのが、同じイングランド勢のマンチェスター・ユナイテッドと共に優勝候補の一角に挙げられているトッテナム。ベルギーの強豪ヘントとのアウェイゲームでは、ポジションを積極的に入れ替える相手の変幻自在の戦いぶりに終始流れを掴み切れず、0-1の敗戦を喫した。

▽今回の2ndレグで逆転を期すポチェッティーノ監督率いるチームは、先週末に行われたFAカップで格下フルアム相手にFWケインのハットトリックで3-0の快勝を収めて公式戦の連敗をストップ。加えて、DFヴェルトンゲンの戦列復帰でヘントとのリベンジマッチに向けては[3-4-3]への布陣変更も可能となっており、追い風が吹いている。唯一の懸念は、新スタジアム建設の影響で今季の公式戦無敗を誇る本拠地ホワイト・ハート・レーンを使用できず、間借りするウェンブリー・スタジアムでの戦いとなることだ。同スタジアムでの戦いを苦手とするトッテナムは、今シーズンのCLグループステージでも1勝2敗と負け越しており、“サッカー界の聖地”を“ホーム”にできるかが、逆転の鍵となる。

▽初戦に敗れたトッテナムとは異なり、ホームで行われたサンテチェンヌとの1stレグをFWイブラヒモビッチのハットトリックの活躍によって3-0の快勝を収めたユナイテッドは、敵地での2ndレグを前にラウンド16進出に大きく近づいた。このアドバンテージによって、今週末にサウサンプトンとのEFLカップ決勝を控えるモウリーニョ監督率いるチームは、主力数名を温存することができるはずだ。リーグ・アンで5位に位置するサンテチェンヌは決して侮れない相手だが、堅守を誇る一方で得点力に問題を抱える。したがって、直近のFAカップで公式戦6試合ぶりの失点を喫したものの、モウリーニョ仕込みの組織的守備が浸透しているユナイテッドが逆転を許す可能性は限りなく低い。

▽DF内田篤人とMF瀬戸貴幸が参戦する日本人選手所属2クラブでは、ケガの内田が招集外となったシャルケが、敵地でPAOKを一蹴し、3-0で先勝。一方、瀬戸を含めクラブ史上初のEL決勝トーナメント参戦のアストラは、試合終了間際に瀬戸が決めた劇的同点ゴールによって、ベルギーの強豪ゲンク相手に辛くもホームで2-2のドローに持ち込んだ。

▽敵地で3-0で快勝したシャルケのラウンド16進出はほぼ当確と言っていいが、アウェイゴール2点を献上しているアストラは敵地での勝利か、3点以上奪ってのドローと逆転突破に向けたハードルは決して低くない。1stレグではチーム一丸となった組織的サッカーで攻守にまずまずのまとまりを見せたアストラだが、不用意なボールロストから2失点目に絡んだ瀬戸を含めて要所でミスが出ており、強豪相手のジャイアントキリング達成に向けては90分間を通して高い集中力を保つことが求められる。

▽ラウンド32最注目の実力者同士の対戦となったビジャレアルvsローマ、ボルシアMGvsフィオレンティーナの2カードでは、FWゼコのハットトリックの活躍によって、敵地でビジャレアルに4-0の圧勝を飾ったローマが、ホームでの2ndレグを待たずしてベスト16進出をほぼ手中に収めた。その一方で、ボルシアMGvsフィオレンティーナは終始ホームのボルシアMGのペースで進んだ中、FWベルナルデスキの見事な直接FKによる決勝点を最後まで守り抜いたフィオレンティーナが1-0で競り勝ち、ホームでの2ndレグに向けてアドバンテージを手にしている。

▽敵地でアウェイゴールを奪っての勝利と、ラウンド16進出に向けて優位に立つフィオレンティーナだが、直近のリーグ戦では消耗戦となったミランとの上位対決に競り負けるなど、調子は必ずしも芳しくない。一方、敵地での逆転突破を目指すボルシアMGは、MFトルガン・アザールのPK失敗などが響き、ライプツィヒに競り負けるも内容自体はまずまずだった。したがって、今回の2ndレグでも拮抗した展開が予想される。

▽1stレグでほぼ大勢が決したローマvsビジャレアルに関しては、今週末の国内リーグでそれぞれインテル、レアル・マドリーとのビッグマッチを控えているため、主力数名を温存して戦う可能性が高い。それでも、意地を見せたいビジャレアルが、高速カウンターを得意とするローマに対して、玉砕覚悟の猛攻を仕掛ける展開が予想されるだけに、1stレグ同様に多くのゴールが生まれる展開となるはずだ。

「相手に恐怖を与える赤」ストイコビッチ監督率いるセルビアがユーロ用のユニフォームを発表!アウェイは「大会で最も優れたデザインの 1 つ」

「そのパターンは何?」「パズルみたい」オーストリアのユーロ用新ユニフォームはかつて流行した建築様式をイメージ!「面白い」「初めて見た」

「有刺鉄線?」珍しいストライプには困惑も?前回大会8強のスイスがユーロ用の新ユニフォームを発表

チェコ代表がユーロ用の新ユニフォームを発表!アウェイは史上最強と名高い2004年のデザインをイメージ
